Chapter Eighteen

I just came back from Calum's. It was really fun hanging out with him.

I was walking back to my house now. I think it's going to be weird for Ashton to be round. But we might as well talk about what happened.

"Hey mum!" I said whilst shutting the door behind me.

"Hi sweetie, dinners almost ready. Could you set the table please?" Mum asked whilst finishing off the cooking.

"Yeah sure." I said whilst walking towards the cupboard to get the plates.

"So how many of us is there going to be?" I asked.

"Uhm, well there's you, me, dad, Ashton, his mum and dad, and his brother and sister." Mum said.

"Okay, so 8 plates?" I questioned.

"Yes." Mum said.

"Okay." I said.

I got the plates and started laying them out.

I got the cutlery and placed it around each plate.

I did a good job. Even though it's the most simplest thing to do.

I quickly ran upstairs to the bathroom, I needed to freshen up.

I quickly did my hair again. I started to sing whilst I was doing that.

"Lace up your shoes

Ayo ayo

Here's how we do

Run baby run

Don't ever look back

They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance

Don't sell your heart, don't say we're not meant to be

Run baby run, forever we'll be

You and me"

Done. I finished doing my hair.

I walked back downstairs, I walked into the living room and all I saw were 5 pairs of eyes staring at me.

"U-uh hi." I said whilst waving awkwardly.

"Hi dear." Mrs Irwin said.

I smiled back. "Dinners ready!" Mum yelled.

"Follow me." I said kindly.

We all sat around the table. I was sat next to Ashton. Can it get anymore awkward.

"Great food Mrs Jones." Ashton said kindly.

I didn't notice that I was smiling until Ashton called my name.

I quickly stopped smiling.

"Aw thanks, call me Julie." Mum said.

"Did you have fun today hanging out with umm, Calum?" Mum asked.

I saw on the corner of my eye, Ashton looking really sad.

I don't know why, I only hanged out with Calum, it was no big deal.

"Yeah, it was really fun." I said whilst grabbing a spoonful of food.

"Ahh, that's good." Dad said.

Everyone else continued talking, except me and Ashton.

We just ate quietly.

Well I thought we were, until Ashton spoke, well whispered.
