"Go Anna!" Lyla and I cheer, our hands cupping our mouths as we hoot out Anna's name. We watch her from across the field throw her gloved hands in the air, waving madly in our direction.

She looks seriously bad-ass in her lacrosse gear, navy and white- our school colors.

Lyla, Elena, Amara, and I have definitely outdone ourselves. I'm holding a giant foam #1 sign, wearing long navy socks, have painted white dots that line my eyes, and my hair is in festive dutch braids, white and navy bows tying them off. That's not to mention the huge sign Elena has painted with Anna's name on it, and Lyla's crazy outfit. Even Amara has joined in, her hijab a deep navy, and her white clothing splattered in blue paint.

It's championships! We have to support Anna- and we're not people who half ass things.

The night sky is setting, and the lights above are head are blinding, the intensity of the game reaching it's peak. While Anna's first love may be figure skating, theres no denying she's fucking insane at lacrosse.

Her face is furrowed in concentration as she barley manages to catch the flying lacrosse ball that number 42 had sent soaring her way. Her feet pounding against the turf and she dives forward, swiveling her way through defense, and arching her arms backwards throwing the ball into the goal.

The stands erupt in cheers. This is it, we've won!

Someone throws a powder up into the air, coating us in blue, classic Fenwick High. Classic.I don't mind though because I'm too busy cheering, my face has broken into the biggest smile ever, and for a second I've completely forgotten about Will.

Oh fuck.

Well now I've remembered.

Now I feel completely out of place right in the middle of happy teenagers, probably all drunk from pre games. I smile weakly as someone takes a group snap, while everyone else cheers.

I haven't talked to Will in weeks, and still his voice is deafning in my ears.

I want to scream in frustration. Why haven't I done anything? Why have a made myself believe that distancing myself from Will could ever possibly be a good thing. When in reality, I'm just hurting him more. But I'm terrified. I'm selfish, seeing him from a distance will continue to be better than loosing him- than him being locked up.

Lyla notices my hazy expression and takes my hand giving it a comforting squeeze.

"There's a party in a few hours. To celebrate our win, feeling up to it."

I force a smile. "Yeah, sure" I scream over the load noises around us. "Are we stopping at my house to get ready?"

"Of course." She laughs, flashing her perfectly straight teeth.

All four off them are always prepared for a party opportunity, which is why they always have spare clothe at my home.

"Ashley's coming." I add. Anna's lacrosse friend who I'd met briefly before. All fake tan, and bleached hair, but she's okay, nice.
