"Ugh, Mrs.Haddad is such a bitch." Andrew groans, biting into his hamburger savagely. We're all sitting at our lunch table, while Andrew complains about an F he received on an essay he half-assed. "She needs to get laid or somethin- she's so strict."

I roll my eyes and move my fries around with my fork. I can't bring myself to eat one, even though I fasted yesterday- so instead I just take a sip of my diet coke. My friend Mathew eyes my fries enviously.

"Bro- you gonna eat those?"

I nudge my tray forward and he eagerly takes it from me.

"I'm having another party at my house tonight," Sabrina drawls from beside me.  "Mom and Dad are going out."

Andrew's face lights up, "I'll bring the beer." He says Matthew and James pound him on the back playfully. I look down at my can- another party I won't be going too.

Sabrina laughs mechanically than with her black lined eyes she stares up at me. She blinks her long lashes flirtatiously and grabs onto my shoulder. I see Amanda stiffen, but she won't look me in the eye. "You'll come right," Sabrina whispers into my ear. She smells strongly of cheap perfume, nothing like Cira- she smells like warm sugar and vanilla.

Why is Cira always on my mind lately.

I shrug Sabrina's hand off, and I watch her smile turn into a malicious frown.

"Yeah... no," I say.

James wolf whistles as I reject Sabrina.

"You know- I don't understand why I even try anymore." Sabrina snaps getting up from the seat. "First you dump Dia, then you stop hanging out with us, you stop going to parties, and get yourself benched from the team."

My face flushes with shame.

"I mean I don't even know who you are anymore. And we've all discussed it. You've changed Will."

My eyes flicker over to Andrew accusingly, he stares down at his hands.

"Fine," I say getting up from the seat. "I may have changed- but at least I'm not an asshole like you guys anymore."

The entire cafeteria watches me as I leave my table. I pull on my hood, attempting to protect myself from other's burning stares.

But she's right. I have changed. I can't even recognize myself anymore.

...

"Good job kiddo," Coach says giving my shoulder a comforting squeeze. "Knew you could do it."

I step off the scale and smile at him as convincingly as possible.

The scale says 160 lbs. Even though that's just because of the ankle weights strapped tightly to my ankles.
