I gasp, but I don't step forward. I mean it's not illegal to make out with someone at a party right.
They break apart, and Anna leans back against the Sofa they're sitting on.
"Good job Andrew." Someone says giving him a fist bump. Andrew flushes proudly.
"Kay. Your turn Anna." The guy says. He has ginger hair, and a freckly face. And he reminds me of a boy who used to push me down in the play ground in preschool.
"I thought that counted." Anna slurs furrowing her brows. She rubs her mouth, smudging her lipstick across her cheek.
"Oh no. She's drunk." I groan covering my eyes. This is why we don't go to parties.
"It's fine Andrews a nice guy. He-"
"It's not about Andrew, Will." I practically shout. "Last year she had to get her stomach pumped. She got alcohol poisoning at a party like this."
"Oh." Will says, his face dropping. "What do we do?"
"I don't know. She has sensitivity to caffeine and alcohol. It's affects her differently."
We watch from a distance, as Anna and the ginger argue.
"Fine, you menteur (liar) you idiot (moron)." She says throwing her hands up. She sits back and waits for her dare.
"I dare you too-Take your top off." The ginger says greedily. A few boys clap him on the back.
At first I don't think she's gonna do. She has better sense right? But then I see her roll her eyes, and she starts to slowly pry her shirt of, exposing her bra. She clips it off revealing herself to the rest of the crowd. There are phones out, and without hesitating Will and I leap foreword. I grab Anna, while Will grabs her top, and we tear her away from the crowd.
"Get outta the way fatass." I hear someone say. I shake the comment off and guide Anna away from everyone, shielding her body with mine so no one can see her.
People are laughing, and whistling. Anna shivers under me, and I grip onto her tighter. We exit the house and immediately the cool night air calms me down.
Anna stinks of beer and I quickly pull her shirt over her. She's sobbing now.
"Why did I do that? Pourquoi?" She sobs against me.
"Shh, relax." I reassure. My mom dropped us off, but theres is no way I'm calling her to pick up a half naked drunk Anna. Will agrees to drive us with Andrews car, and as we're walking, without warning Anna turns and vomits into the pavement.
"Better in that out." Will says running a hand through his hair nervously.
I take a step back. If I smell throw up- it's gonna make me hurl. But I wanna be there for Anna. Thankfully Will has no trouble.
He gives her his jacket and lays her down on the grass. At the exact moment the sprinkles start ejecting water into the air. Drenching us. But I couldn't be happier. I can see Anna start to relax.
"I'm so dumb." She says into her palms. "I know better. But I always fuck up. I'm just some fucking French girl stereotype. A slut. Easy."
She looks up at us, her eyelashes coated with tears. "This is gonna ruin everything. What if I can't be on Chew with Schools."
"Relax Anna. You have to relax." I say putting an arm around her.
"Your not anything like that. Your smart, and talented, and so athletic. Sometimes you just make mistakes. Like we all do. Your just human."
"I'm a disappointment- that's what I am."
"No Anna. You could never disappoint me." I pull her up, and give her a hug.
With Will's help I manage to half drag her/ carry her into Andrew's car.
"I'm so sorry." I say blushing, as we start driving.
Anna's passed out in the back. She looks so peaceful when she sleeps.
"I'm sorry for ruining your night."
"It's fine. Honestly. Your pretty cool Cira. And Anna too."
I blush, and lean back into my chair, watching the moon illuminate into his car.
"Thank you."
"I get so tired of my friends sometimes." Will sighs rubbing his eyes. "They do stupid shit like get girls drunk, take advantage of them, and record them. You'll see. Amanda will probably have that video posted everywhere by Monday."
"She's your girlfriend Will." I say shakily.
"Yeah." He says gripping on the wheel as he says so. "I've known her since we were little. We're just the couple that had to happen, so everyone could see they're ship sail."
"I hate high school."
"Yeah." I agree, I bite my lip. "If you don't like her, why are u dating her? Why make yourself unhappy."
"She's probably the least of my problems right now."
"Okay." I say raising an eyebrow. "What's your biggest one."
"I like you Cira. So I'm not gonna tell you." He chuckles, he turns the wheel into my street.
"You think your quite the mysterious guy. But I think I have you all figured out." I say.
"Do you now." He raises an eyebrow.
"Cliche football player. Secretly thinks he's a rebel, cause he doesn't want to remain in this boring town forever- and thinks everyone's fake. Which is kinda true."
He chuckles deeply again. "I wish." He parks at my house. The lights are off which means my mom has gone to sleep. Thank god. I can sneak Anna in and text her mother and tell her she's sleeping over.
"Bye psychic ." He says, as I open the car door.
"Bye rebel."
And with that I close the car door, grab Anna, I try to swallow down the feelings I'm getting- ones for Will.
