She was so peaceful as she slept. It reminded me about how... Non peaceful she used to sleep. She would have nightmares about her dad. She'd wake up screaming in the middle of the night. She'd beg for her father to stop, even though he wasn't there.
But now, she hardly remembers any of that. She can sleep without any worry of any of her past. She doesn't have to live in constant panic of her father returning and taking her away from me.
As I sat there and thought, I thought of something painful. What if...
What if her forgetting was for the best? I mean, she's no longer in pain. She doesn't remember any of the things she's been through with me. All of her pain was because of me. Now that she's forgotten it all, maybe she can live a better life.
Yeah.
Maybe this was for the best.
