To Lee Jihoon,

Chan's doing fine. His mom spent an hour interrogating him on how a volleyball broke his finger. She thinks he was being bullied despite the gym teacher reassuring her that he was an eye witness to the volleyball debacle.

That's a fun word.

You're not wearing the face mask anymore. When you walked into class today we made eye contact for the third time.

You seemed a bit relieved to see me. Did you think I was the one who got hurt? Were you worried about that?

I asked you for some loose-leaf paper today. You almost jumped straight out of your skin when I said your name and poked your shoulder. I didn't mean to scare you. You just nodded and handed me a small stack from a binder in your backpack.
