" Are you serious" My mom asked with tears in her eyes. I swear I hated to see her cry, That's why I didn't wanna come over here and break the news to her but I kinda had no choice. 

" Yeah....I knew I had to tell you ma, Im sorr-"

" For what? That ain't yall fault so don't feel guilty. Marcus love yall, he love me too....well I think so" She whimpered. 

" Want me to tell dad to leave?" I asked looking in her red eyes . 

She placed her face in the palm of her hands while she wiped the tears from her eyes. 

" Nawl, I wanna meet her" she said catching me off guard. 

I squinted my eyes and instantly my frown turned into a face of confusion. 

" you wanna meet her?" I asked making sure she said what she said. 

"yeah, I wanna meet her....how old she is?" She questioned. 

I looked at her as if she was talking another language opposite of mine.  "you sure? and she about 14" I told her. 

" yeah, bring her over here, and don't say shit to yo daddy. You hear me? I want him to be surprised" She explained making sure I understood, so I nodded my head. 

" Alright, I guess. " I slowly replied walking towards the door to lead me out of her room. 

I made my way down the stairs to the living room where my dad was seated as he watched tv. "where you going?" he asked catching me off guard. 

" Home" I quickly spoke before exiting out of the door. 

I had no way of getting in touch with that girl, so my best bet was going over Sharonda house to see Kendell .

I walked through Sharonda's house with Starr behind me, considering she was the one that opened the door for me. 

"Starr, where Kendell at ? " I asked still walking further into the house. 

" He upstairs" She mumbled. 

I nodded my head before making my way upstairs towards Kendell room. I heard gunshots coming from his room which meant he was probably playing the game, and without knocking I entered the room unannouced . 

"Kendell, whea ya li' girlfrann at?" I asked trying to imitate a southern accent.

" you mean yo sista? And she at home, why?" He asked making me roll my eyes. 

" where she live at?" I asked leaning against the doorframe. 

" she live all the way up north on chippewa. Why?" He questioned. 

I sighed considering it was very far from where we were. " you think ha momma will let me pick her up?" I asked.

" ha mama don't give a damn bout ha, want me to call ha fa you?" Kendell asked me before pausing the game.

" yeah gon' head" I told him as I watched him pulled out his phone.

He typed away on his phone while I stayed leaned against the wall. Seconds later he placed the phone against his ear and began talking. It was a brief conversation before he hung up. 

" what she say?" I said growing impatient.

" she said you can come get ha, take me witchu doe" he told me. 

I instantly shook my head, " Fuck no, I need her for something really important" i explained to him.
