Android Girl
She winds the tension tighter
in the mainspring of my mind
until I can no longer fight her
She is the one who sets the time
Oh my darling ratchet key
you turn these gears deep in me
and they spiral fast indeed
better than any steam
could ever do
I wear the clockworks on my sleeve
and as it rusts in a rain of tears
I seem to find a kind of relief
in your eyes and all your gears
and in all you do
There I freeze and I yearn
for your touch and your turn
to start this engine again today
by all the things you say
Polish up this tension spring
and like a clockwork nightingale; sing
Give my gearbox clock a whirl
and be my own android girl
