Fool

One would think that with years of life

would come

experience galore

and with age

comes

infinite wisdom

not always

we often repeat the same mistakes

i am a

fool

and

what is even more sad

I am an old fool

I thought that nothing

could ever scare me again

I thought that I had

lived everything

and

that I could handle

any

situation that fate threw at me

I was wrong

Life is strange sometimes

and

often we can't see what is

standing right in front of us

We walk with blinders on

and

even though a hand may reach to us

and try...

try so hard...

to guide us,

to take us,

to love us,

...

we simply

look straight ahead

and keep walking

down a road

of

repeated mistakes

we can only say

sorry

so many times

can only

beg

for forgiveness

so many times

can only do the

same stupid shit

so many times

before

what was standing right in front of us

trying

holding our hand

is gone

the blinders can come off then

but

it is too late

I am a fool

but

what is worse

I am an old fool

I took off my blinders

to late
