"Well we'll let you get your breakfast and we'll be out in the garden, we brought some flowers to plant for you Demi." Demi smiled thanking them as they headed out back towards the car, Oscar followed them both knowing his owner was safe. They thought it was important that Oscar got some free time too. Joe sat up straight wincing slightly but he tried not to make a sound, he didn't want Jack to worry.

"Why is it more painful than yesterday?" Demi inquired. "You seemed a lot better yesterday."

"I guess I was kept a bit busy, I probably slept funny or something." Joe replied thanking her as she set a bagel down in front of him. She always knew what he had in a morning. They had been friends for years.

"Just take it easy, alright?" Demi lectured slightly.

"Yes mom." Joe answered as he started to eat.

"She my mommy not yours." Jack stated and they couldn't help but laugh at him Joe ruffling his hair slightly.

"I was joking Jack because she was acting like my mom." Joe tried to explain.

"She is a mom, my mommy." Jack repeated and Joe shook his head at his son.

"I love you Jack." Joe declared and he giggled.

"I love you too daddy." Jack replied feeling someone approach him but he recognized his mom's touch as she set a plate in front of him, he fumbled around for a fork but managed to find it soon enough and begun to eat by himself. They didn't want his disability to stop him from being too independent but he was still only four.

"Thank you mommy." Jack replied as she sat down with the both of them the three of them eating together. They liked to when Joe was home, do all the things normal families did.

"What do you want to do with nanny and grandpa then?" Joe questioned his son.

"Anything." Jack replied.

"I'm pretty sure you'll be getting a choice little man so you get to pick! You can pick anything you want." Demi replied.

"Can us go the aquarium?" Jack inquired.

"If you want! I'm sure that is something we can do." Joe assured him.

"But me can't see so what is the point?" Jack questioned and Demi couldn't help but sigh slightly. She knew he'd be getting to the age where he was starting to question doing things just because he couldn't see where he was or what e was doing.

"Just because you can't see Jack, doesn't mean you can't do anything." Demi stated.

"Yeah, it's all about the atmosphere and things, you can touch some of the animals too." Joe replied.

"Really?" He questioned.

"Yeah, stingrays and stuff," Joe answered and Jack smiled slightly. "You still wanna go?"

"Yeah!" Jack exclaimed.

"Are you sure you're gonna be okay?" Demi questioned looking over at Joe and he nodded his head gently.

"I'll take my painkillers." He assured her.

"Daddy, won't Oscar scare all the fishes away though?" Jack inquired as he stepped into his pants holding onto Joe's shoulders to steady himself. Joe always did a lot for Demi when he was here, get Jack ready and cook and things. He felt like she deserved a break. She was Jack's constant carer. She got money for taking care of her son. It was the best job she could imagine though. It wasn't what she imagined she'd be doing but she loved it.

"I don't think he'll be the first guide doggy they've seen." Joe reassured him kissing his head and Jack smiled.

"I like it when you come home daddy." Jack admitted.

"I like it when I'm home too."

"Do all daddy's come and go?" Jack questioned.

"No, it depends on their job. Mine means I have to be away from home a lot but some jobs don't. Some mommy's do what I do too." Joe explained to him putting a shirt over his head.

"Mommy isn't going though?" Jack panicked slightly not wanting to be away from both his parents.

"No, no, mommy isn't going anywhere." Joe demanded helping him put his arms through the holes.

"Good." Jack answered Joe chuckling slightly as he let out a breath of relief and Joe kissed his head again as he stood up lifting him up into his arms.

"All done, we just need to get your socks and shoes on now downstairs." Joe stated heading out of the room making sure the curtains were open and the light was switched off.

"Oscar ready?"

"I don't think he needs socks and shoes." Joe teased his son slightly and Jack giggled feeling them go down the stairs and Joe sat him on the last step.

"Ready for the aquarium Jack?" Paul questioned.

"Yeah! It will be fun." Jack replied as he felt Joe put on his socks and his shoes.

"Picnic is all ready, I just need to get Oscar's vest on." Demi stated as she came into the hallway.

"You go get everything into the car, I'll sort Oscar out." Joe demanded as he tied up Jack's last shoe standing up again.

"Okay, come on Jacky." Demi encouraged holding his hand as he stood up leading him out of the house.

"You want to tell us what's going on now?" Denise inquired as she came in and Joe sighed grabbing Oscar's vest.
