IVY LOVED HALLOWEEN AT HOGWARTS, but she had to admit she much preferred it when she was smaller and with all of her cousins. There were about thirteen of them going around Wales trick-or-treating, and they'd come back and share mass amounts of sweets, muggle and wizard alike. And since October was out of the way, Ivy had less chance of having all of her rounds with Percy Weasley (who she still couldn't work up the guts to even talk to, let alone apologise for her overreaction). She had gone through all of her rounds in silence, messing with the hem of her skirt. It was much more interesting than Percy anyway."Ivy, he still won't talk to me! It's been like a month. I've tried saying sorry but he won't listen." Luke complained, shoving some wheat cereal in his mouth. "It wasn't even that bad, why's he so angry at me?"
Ivy let out a small breath. "Well Luke, you yelled at him for having other friends and then proceeded to assume that he liked her when you know he would have told you if he did. Maybe that's why. I don't blame him."
Ivy and Leo were still on good terms. Very good terms actually; Ivy was fairly certain she'd know things soon enough. Maybe he was being a bit overdramatic but Ivy really could understand his point.
"Right, well it's the Halloween feast! He has to forgive me today."
The truth was, he most possibly wouldn't because when Leo is annoyed, he stays annoyed for as long as he can possibly stretch it out.
____________
"Leo, Luke is becoming restless." Ivy said, as she sat next to him, eating a sandwich by the Black Lake. "He really wants you two to be friends again and I know for a fact that he's tried to apologise."
"I know, Ivy, I know. Really, I do but it just really annoyed me. Like, I can have other friends! You have Marcus and Luke has..." Leo paused, realisation dawning on him.
Ivy smiled sadly. "You know how he is Leo, took him ages to get used to you. He likes to pretend he's gotten better but we both know that's not true."
"It's just, Im only milking this out because I don't want him to be aware of what I'm about to tell you. I'm not ready for anyone else to know yet." Leo whispered, looking around searching for anyone near enough to hear them.
"It's fine Leo, now come on just tell me!"
"Ivy, I like boys."
Silence washed over them before Ivy squealed. "And what did you think I would do? Kill you? I'd behead my mother before I even dared hurt you for that!"
_____________
"Parry?"
Ivy winced, debating whether or not it would be worse to ignore him - it would probably be worse. "Weasley..."
"I apologise for what I said." Percy looked at her sheepishly.
"No, you don't need to apologise, it was my fault. Between you and me, I'm known as the queen of overreactions." Ivy said aloud, smiling slightly. "If anything, I should be the one apologising. Sorry I'm too smart to understand people sometimes."
Percy Weasley stared at her for a few seconds. "I'm sorry that I'm too smart to realise that your charisma is certainly lacking."
"Oi!" Ivy laughed, before turning on the ball of her heels and walking off.
___________
Smiling, Ivy sat down at the Hufflepuff table next to Luke. The Great Hall was decorated with lifelike bats and dim orange lights. Pumpkins were floating in midair and it was simple decorations like that that made Ivy happy.
"Hopefully we're sat near the crystallised pineapple because I really don't want to have to move too far to get some." Ivy mentioned looking over at Headmaster Dumbledore, who had just began his yearly Halloween speech.
And for once, it didn't last too long and Ivy grinned, noticing the crystallised pineapple right in front of her.
Ivy exclaimed, taking almost all of the pineapple on the platter. "We chose our seats well today!"
"I swear you'll literally turn into pineapple. You never stop eating it." Luke chimed, temporarily forgetting about Leo as he stacked a variety of sweets onto his plate.
"Nah!" Ivy looked into her goblet, thankful to see butterbeer instead of pumpkin juice. "Oh thank Merlin."
"I still don't get how you don't like pumpkin juice, it's amazing."
The girl did not even blink before she responded. "It's awful! I'm fine with gillywater and butterbeer thanks." Ivy took a sip of her drink. "Luke is that - wow, um - four cauldron cakes!"
"They're good okay!"
___________
"It's a shame we had to spend the rest of the feast in here. Stupid troll." Luke moaned. "I couldn't even speak to Leo afterwards."
"How do you reckon it got in here anyway? I told the third years that Hagrid left the gate open by accident." asked Ivy, eyeing the remaining students in the common room.
"I just said I didn't know."
"Right okay." The girl replied, standing up. "I'm going up to my dorm. I've got to read my mother's letter."

'Dear Ivanka,
How are you darling? Your dad says he misses you. He's going to be gone for another mission and we are unaware on how long it will take. It was estimated to be a few months. I will keep you updated.
This year, Christmas is going to be held at our house so if you are inviting your friends over, it must be at least after Christmas morning.
Your cousins miss you a lot.
Keep away from Adam, study hard and be kind.
Love, Mother.'
It was brief but it was nothing Ivy didn't expect from her mother, as of course they weren't incredibly close. Halloween wasn't the worst day she had ever had. In fact, it was rather good.
