And I Love Him Still

I'll tell you about the person I loved. From a stranger to an acquaintance to a friend and to a very close friend. He'd become someone that I loved romantically to a lover and a very close friend I never wanted to lose. He'd become someone I relied on, was dependent upon, and trusted with my life. He was one of the best things that ever happened to me. He was one of the best things I could talk about. He was one of my best pasts. One of the worst too. He was more than just someone I loved. He was that friend. He was my soft spot. He was that backbone. He was my escape. Even now when we're not that close anymore due to current circumstances, he's still a person I treasure a lot. And I love him still. But not in a romantic way anymore. I love him as a close friend, and as someone who was once in love with him.
