Lucas stared at my lock screen, frowning at the familiar words.
"You...starred this? Why?"
I glanced at my lock screen. It was a screenshot of two texts that I starred on WhatsApp. Two texts that Lucas sent to me as a joke during our previous conversation.
Two texts that hit me like a ton of bricks.
"It's a reminder," I said.
"A reminder? You need to remind yourself that you need to give me space?" Lucas raised one eyebrow.
I gave him a tiny smile while shaking my head.
"I need to remind myself to give my heart a break."
"A break? Why?" He asked, tilting his head.
I shrugged. "It's had enough."
I need to remind myself that what's past is past.
