I woke up this morning, feeling the crisp cold air hit my face.
"Shit, did the furnace turn off again?" I stretch, surprisingly waking up before my alarm clock, which read 8:00AM, fresh Monday morning. Quickly, I rushed over to the thermostat, turning to a comfortable number before hearing it click.
"Thank God." I whispered to myself. Now hopefully it will work...

By the time it was 9:30AM I rushed off to my snowy truck, quickly brushing the snow off, and chiseling the ice. I got inside the truck, turning it on and allowing it to heat up, including myself, before driving off. Days like this I am glad to work in a warm coffee shop. Can't wait till I get to work to drink some.

"I knew you'd be here." Sharon said in a snippy voice. I thought she'd get the hint of me not answering her calls. She said some pretty messed up shit to me during our last hook up, so I decided to not answer her back. Her preppy attitude couldn't take the hint.
"Welcome to Buzzy Café! What can I make for you?" I smiled at her and acted like I knew nothing happened.
"Stop fucking with me B." She whispers. I notice the place wasn't as packed as usual, so I stepped aside to talk to her.
"What you said to me was pretty fucked up. How "You can see why my family doesn't talk to me? At least I'm not in the closet and dating a Jockey to cover it up." I whispered so no one in the room could hear. She grinds her teeth while fronting me a evil look.
"You know what, I wanted to apologize but I guess not, fuck you." She says turning around. I quickly grab her by her arm, flinging her back to me.
"Listen Sharon. I'll forgive you if you forgive me." I smiled at her before biting my lip. I guess we were even now after I gave her comment, plus I got nothing to loose. She flashed a cheeky smile at me before giving me a hug. What can I say? I'm a broken mess but all I cared was for the affection we gave each other.

"The usual?" I said walking back behind the counter, throwing my apron on. She smiles and nods while she plays with her hair, she looked adorable when she did that. I turn around, starting to make her coffee up. Hearing someone come in, I do the usual welcome, while the familiar voice says thank you back. I looked over my shoulder and noticed Prince sitting on the couch with a book in his hands. How come I've never seen him here before? All well. I handed her the drink as she quickly steals a kiss on my cheek before walking out. Thank god nobody saw that, at least I thought.

"Isn't it a bit to early for rockstars?" I asked Prince, since we were the only two in the room. He peeks above the top of his book looking at me. I place my hand on my hip after shrugging at him, smiling.
"Beau? You work here? I've never-" he stands up out of his spot, walking up to the counter.
"How come I've never seen you here before?" I asked him. He shrugs.
"Maybe it's because Rose always serves me... I'll have a cup of coffee please." He reaches into his pants pocket for his wallet while I turn around beginning to roast him a cup.
"Oh Rose. I thought to myself. She was my ex as well, so I got that bitter taste in my mouth... and head when someone speaks her name.
"So is she your girl?" He asks handing me the money. I shrug again.
"It's kinda a open relationship though she gets too attached to me." I roll my eyes and he let's out a laugh.
"Man I hate when that shit happens." He added and let out a sigh after. I hand him back his change while he speaks.
"What time do you get off?" He asks as he puts it away.
"Well, around 12PM, then it's Rose's shift." I rolled my eyes when I said her name. He giggled at my reaction.
"Want to come over to my place?" He asked while he fixes his coffee up. I watch him deciding.
"Sure, let's go." I smiled at him and he smiled back.

On the way to his house, I remember I had plans tonight with Sharon...
"Looks like they're cancelled." I laughed to myself. She's stood me up to many times before... I followed Prince as he parks on the street. He had no driveway, which was no big deal.
"Wow, this is a nice house." I say, stepping out of my car admiring it. He nods in agreement.
"Built my own studio in the basement. Do you know how to play a piano?" He asks as he unlocks his front door.

"I love to play! It's been so long though..." I whispered the last part, while we are stepping inside. The house spoke to me in many ways, it was beautifully decorated and designed with a old rustic English feel to it. The entrance area was the dinning room, and when you looked back you saw the entrance to the kitchen and a hallway.
"Wow it's absolutely beautiful in here!" I smiled at him and he smiles back.

"Thank you... follow me." I follow him down the min hallway and into a room, the piano room. We walk in and I see beautiful grand piano in there, with sound proof foam walls.
"The neighbors appreciate those." He says sitting down on the bench in front of the piano, beginning to play. I close my eyes, leaning against the entrance of the room enjoying his beautiful melodies. He stops and I open my eyes to look at him.
"You're not just going to stand there? You gotta show me what you have up your sleeve." He smiles at me and scoots over on the bench. I walk over, sitting down next to him.
"Like I said, it's been forever so don't laugh." I smiled looking down at the keys before I began to play Für Elise. Just like that. I played through it beautifully without messing up. I forgotten how much I missed playing and how much I missed creating. I finished and we both sat there in quiet. I could feel a loneliness sensation from him so I decided to look up at him and smile.
"It was a little rusty." I said shrugging. I saw his eyes twinkle at me as he smiled back.
"Don't doubt yourself, it was perfect. Have you ever thought of being a pianist for a living?" He asked before playing a mini tune. I shook my head no.
"Maybe you should, you're really good." I smiled until he hit the low c note, stopping and getting up.
"Are you hungry? We can order something if you want." He asks, now standing at the doorway.
"Sure, pizza would be great." He nods and says as he walks away, shutting the door slightly.
"Sure no problem." With that, my fingers pressed against the cool ivory keys, beginning to play a melody.
