The outlines of the sail boats
Run as daubs of water colours
Across a gently undulating surface;
The reflection trails as if to keep up
As waves traversing the shallows.The lights of downtown Kelowna,
From across the lake, splinter
Like constant, stationary fireworks
Against the dark green
mountain backdrop.Behind me the sun sets below the mountains,
Shadows stream before me across the sand and rocks,
And as the sails of sailboats are trimmed and lowered,
So do my eyelids drop across this tranquil time and place.~gtk
