Rocky paths of stones and sand
A slippery, muddy, dusty land
Bumpy walks and thorny paths
Imbedded on his toes
The stones in rows
The cracks on feet
Burn and aches
Slits of cuts
A pattern makes
From blood and mud
The red and brown
A barefoot traveller
His prints astound
