I'll never forget his sweet smile
Those wide, innocent eyes
Arms outstretched
Pleading to pick him up
And I bend on my knees
And hug him tightly
Close to meI lift him up
And throw him in the air
He gurgles in delight
Oh what a pleasant sight
I put him down
He asks for more
His toys all scattered on the floorHe wraps his arms around my neck tightly
Not wanting to let go
And then I see the fear in his eyes,
Precious little pearls
rolling down his cheeks
He looks like a little clown
His forehead in a frown
I turn to look around
"It's only the neighbour"
I sayAnd then the tears all gone
In a second
All forgotten
In his hand I see
A lollipop for you and meAnd when the days go quickly by
The love we share is not a lie
The love is forever there
No matter who's there
To share ...
