Mountain - by aneesamuhammad786

I gaze at the mountain
And a story it enfolds
How tall and aloof
So beautiful, yet old

The ages it passed
Unbattered and strong
Holds the secrets
Of history gone by

Protected and nurtured
From their enemies it saved
Sheltered and homed
The occupants in its caves.

My mind in wonder
While I reach its peak
Leaves me breathless
Unable to speak.
