Tranquility - by aneesamuhammad786

There is too much conflict in this world
With all the wars, guns and violence
All I need is a place to escape
Where the noise and screams I can silence

Buried in my memories, there is such a place
A place of contentment, friendship  and peace
Where bare-feet we would race
And fall onto the ground in a fit of laughter

My hands would tug at the tall grass
Our skins darker, kissed by the sun
We would laugh as we knew no class
Then off to our homes we would innocently run

Welcomed by the aroma of fresh jam and cheese
Then straight to the bath to play with the bubbles
On the prayer mat, Mom and I would fall on our knees
And thank the Lord as we knew no troubles

And as the day came to an end
Down went the sun and up came the moon
I would stay up to wait for Papa
But would fall asleep too soon
