Chapter||Eight

Charlotte

"You take away my demons, you're my angel." That's what he said. My eyes stayed fixed on his like I was waiting for something to happen.

"Don't talk just listen." He closed his eyes taking a deep breath in and out. Thank goodness there was no one walking around and even if I tried to move I couldn't Henry trapped me. I nodded, "As you know I've got issues, I'm pretty messed up." He chuckled lightly, I just smiled. "I won't lie to you, I know I haven't been a friend, I've even tried to forget the effect you have on me but you come along and talk to me or even touch me and all my issues wash away. I just want to start again with you Charlotte?"

I nodded, lost for words. Why can't I open my mouth and speak? A smile lit up on Henry's face, his smile was contagious because I smiled. "We are only 25 minutes late for our Maths lessons, you still wanna go?" Henry asked.

"Yeah let's go." I managed to say.

Henry made some jokes, on our way there and I couldn't help but laugh. I was feeling a bit comfortable now as we made our big entrance into Mr Norman's maths class; everyone's eyes were on us, "So any reason why you both are late?" He asked sternly.

"What are you going to do Charlotte, call for your daddy." Mitch snickered; I felt my heart drop as Mitch said that. I then remembered the only other person that would have told, Reggie. Henry tensed, "Don't I'll handle this one." I inhaled sharply. "Sorry Mr Norman but this has to be done." I shrugged before punching Mitch right in the face I watched as Mitch groaned, what a jerk. "Miss Bolton." Mr Norman said in shock.

Henry smirked at me before whispering in my ear, "Seems like my ways are rubbing on to you?" I rolled my eyes, "I don't know if that's a good or bad thing." I smiled before taking my seat ,"And oh yeah sorry we are late!" I shouted out. The rest of the lesson was a breeze. Until after it I headed out to wait for Henry, Mitch and Jasper approached me with evil grins on their face. Where is Henry? I asked myself. "Seems like you and Henry are getting closer, you wouldn't want him to hate you right?" Jasper spoke first. "Yeah you wouldn't want him to know that your mom is Maria, yes the Maria that his dead messed about with his dad." Mitch nodded.

"H-how did you know?"

"I'm Jasper, Henry's best friend and your ex-boyfriend seems to hate that you and Henry are getting close. He tells us the deets." Jasper smiled. Mitch slapped the back of his head, "You weren't meant to expose Reggie, Idiot. Anyways if I was you Charabella, I'd walk away now." Usually if I had received such a threat I would give zero fucks and not care but it's about Henry, he would kill me. I looked in the class; Henry was still talking to Mr Norman. I looked down and walked away. Sorry Henry. I can't show my face to him again, I decided to head to the nurses office and pretend I'm sick. I was good when it came to acting, forget that. I'll just go to my room and hide in there forever. What's going on with me? "Charlotte!" Crap! That was Henry's voice.

"English is that way." He laughed. I scanned the area; in the corner of my eyes Mitch and Jasper were watching me like hawks. "Henry we can't be friends." I forced the words out of my mouth, "Yeah you're funny, Of course we can." He smiled. I wanted to smile as well and say 'Yes I'm just joking' But I couldn't. "I can't explain it but we can't. Just stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours." I began walking away but he pulled me back by my waist, damn he has to stop doing that. "There's an explanation for this and I won't stop pestering you until I find out." His face was so close to mine. Mitch and Jasper were making faces. I pushed him off me, with force. I had to because from where they were standing it looked like something else. "What was that for, why are you pushing me away, Char." He looked hurt. I wanted to cry," Bye." I said quietly before walking off with tears in my eyes. "Char!" He shouted for the last time. I ran out, off the campus. I'm going to kill Reggie for what he did to me. He deserves to die. I know how to get him off my back.

I sat down on a bench near the car park of Harvard, I needed a breather. I had a decision to make.
