josh's stomach dropped.

"you- you do?" he asked, turning to tyler.

tyler sat up. "yea, i think."

josh thought for a moment.

tyler shifted nervously. "w-why, is that a problem-"

"no, no, tyler." josh said, cutting him off. "it's not a problem, i'm just... not used to it."

tyler sighed, resting his head back onto josh's shoulder. "neither am i."

josh breathed slowly. "have you ever... loved anyone before?"

tyler paused. "not romantically." he said, playing with josh's hand. "family though."

"like who?"

"my father." tyler said quietly. "he died in a fire two years ago."

"i'm sorry for your loss." josh said. he furrowed his brows. "wait, did you..."

tyler nodded against josh's shoulder. "you built a skatepark on the foundation of my house."

joshua got nervous. "tyler i'm so sorry oh my god i didn't mean-"

"no." tyler cut him off. "i'm glad you did. my father taught me to skate. i was just too nervous to skate with you until this year." he softly squeezed josh's hand.

josh squeezed back. "i'm glad you did."

"me too."
