"That's what you want? Are you sure?" He coldly said.
I made myself calm down. "Yes." I said looking down.
"Fine!" He said frustratingly.
"I'm just trying to protect you from him, Nadine! Because I want you to avoid him already." He said sighing.
"Adam, I appreciate your concern but I can handle it. I promise." I said.
"Fine, I'm just doing what is best for you." He reminded and sighed again.
I diverted the topic to Tita Marie. Ayaw ko na kasi pagusapan yun tungkol sa akin at kay James.
"When will you meet her?" I asked.
"Tonight." He coldly answered.
"Uhm, that's good!" I commented.
"Do you have any plans tonight?" He asked.
"Wala naman."
"Come with me." He suddenly said that surprised me.
"Alam mo naman na may sama ng loob si Tita sa akin, diba? Hindi puwede. Oras niyo rin yun para pagusapan ang mga problema niyo." I said.
"But I want you to come with me. Ako bahala sa'yo pag pinagsalitaan ka niya ng hindi maganda. I won't tolerate that, Nadine. You know that." I said.
"Okay." I sighed.
"Uhm, sandali lang naman siguro yun diba?" I asked.
"Yup. It's just a formal dinner with Mom." "He answered.
Formal? Dinner? Ugh! We'll be talking the whole night! Hindi pa naman ako magaling sa mga conversation na yan.
"You don't need to impress her, love. As long as I'm happy with you, it's fine with Mom." He said sweetly and held my hand.
Talaga? Maybe she's just pretending. Maybe she really hates me for Adam. Maybe she will never accept me.
"Okay." I said looking at the window.
Kaya ko to'.
Hours later after Adam sent me home. I took a quick nap and after I showered, I picked a simple dress that I found in my closet.
"Pwede na siguro." I said.
"Nadine!" Kelly called.
Nabagsak ko 'iyong dress at pinulot ko iyon.
"You startled me!" I said while fixing
the dress.
"May lakad ka?" Gulat niyang tanong. I was wearing a robe and a towel was placed on my hair so it could quickly dry and my face has a facial mask on!
"Uhm, oo! Dinner with Adam's mom." I said.
"Ah sige, huwag nalang! Magpapatulong nalang ako kay Ara." Kelly said.
"Bakita? Para saan ba?" I asked.
"I'm planning a surprise for Enzo. Nagaway kasi kami kaninang umaga and it was my fault." She admitted and frowned.
