Chapter 29: Leaving

After weeks of getting my visa and our trip, The day finally came. I brought two luggages with me and I was wearing some spring clothes. James was just staring at me while I pack the documents to my shoulder bag.

"Ready, baby?" He asked when I was wearing my shoulder bag.

"Yup." I answered and smiled at him.

He brought my luggages to his car.

"We'll miss you very much, Anak." Mom said and showered me with kisses.

"Ma naman." Natatawa kong sabi.

"Hay! Ingat ka doon ah? Tumawag ka palagi sa amin." Paalala ni Dad and he hugged me so tight.

"Please take care lil sis..." Saad ni Kuya at lumapit sa akin para bumulong... "Papakasalan ka pa niyan." Bulong niya.

I just smiled.

When we were ready to go, my family gave me a hug.

"Mag aral ka ng mabuti doon ah." Huling paalala ni Dad.

I went to the car and gave them their last wave of goodbye. James was holding my hand all through out the ride and whenever our car stops, he would kiss my hand. I get that he's being clingy since I'm leaving and it makes it more difficult for me to leave him.

We arrived early than we expected. Paano ba iyan? Mag-isa lang ako sa loob ng airport?

"Stay here." He said and went to a nearby staff.

He went back immediately and held one of my luggages. Ako naman sa isa.

"Oh? Paano ka makakapasok?" I asked.

"Connections, babe." He let out a laugh.

Like a normal passenger, he went in for inspection...

"You really never fail to amaze me." Natatawa kong sabi.

"Of course." He proudly said.

"So, saan muna tayo? Are you hungry? We could get breakfast first!" He said.

I nodded. We went inside Jollibee and he ordered for me. Kahit konting oras nalang ang natitira sa amin, I'll always make it worthwhile.

He placed my side a plate of Chicken Spaghetti. A cup of water beside it.

"I'll miss this. Lagi nalang sandwiches ang kakainin ko doon." I said and laughed.

"You'll survive. You need to learn how tp cook... Wala ako doon." He answered and winked.

"Sana maraming Filipino doon na magaaral." I said.

"Babe, wala ka pa nga sa Paris and you feel so homesick already." He sadly said and held my hand.

"Hindi naman kasi ako sanay. I mean, I left Mom and Dad for New York but I was with Kath that time... Ngayon mag-isa na lang ako..." I said sighing.

"Hey, baby..."

"I'm so emotional... Sorry!" I said wiping my tears and smiled at him.

"You'll be fine there... Don't worry." He hugged me tight and kissed my head.

I'll be missing a lot here in Manila at sa New York na rin.

"Maybe I have to go to the check in counter. Dadaan pa pala ako sa immigration and inspection. Where will you pass by?" I said.

"Hmm, there's a way for the non-passengers for sure." He answered. I just nodded.

"We'll probably see each other on the gate you're assigned to."  He added.

Pagkapunta namin roon sa Check-in counter ay medyo mahaba ang pila pero mabilis ang usad...

"Uhm, it's Gate 112." I said looking at the  boarding pass.

"Okay, we'll see each other there. I'll just call you." He said as he hugged me and went in another way.

Mabilis akong pumunta sa immigration at nag fill up ng kakailanganin. Pagkatapos ay sa inspection naman na may haba nanaman ng pila.

I got a text from James when I finished inspection.

James:
Where are you? :(

Me:
Sorry, love. Ang haba ng pila. Papunta na ako diyan :)

As I pass by the other gates, nakita ko siya doon na nakatayo sa mismomg gate ko at parang matagal na siya na nandoon.

"Sorry, haba kasi ng pila." I said.

"It's okay. Uhm, your time is just right... Aalis ka na maya-maya." He said as he looked at his wrist watch.

"Hay nako, parang ayaw ko na umalis." Sabi ko at bumuntong hinga.

"No, you can't say that." Tumawa siya. "You're  very much near to reaching your dreams." He whispered.

"Remember, one year and it'll be done. Just tell me if may magandang offer doon at tatagal ka pa. I'll migrate to France in a heartbeat." He said laughing.

"There will be probably great offers but I won't let you migrate to France for that!" I said laughing.

"Pwede naman iyon. I can move the company to France. Malay mo at mas marami ring investors pag linipat ko iyon." He said and shrugged.

"Sobrang obsessed mo naman sa akin." I laughed while pinching his nose.

He extended his arms and wrapped it around me. "Halata ba?" Tanong niya at tumawa.

"I'll probably extend... madali na iyon. Basta you'll support me, right?" I asked.

"Oo naman. Do great there, okay?" He said and kissed my nose.

My flight was called for departure. Mas lalo ako nalungkot dahil doon kaya tumingin lamang ako sa baba. I'll miss everyone.

"Baby," He said while getting something from his pocket.

"I want you to wear this always, okay?" He said as he placed a necklace on my neck. I held the pendant but it wasn't a pendant. It was a ring.

I was sure that I'm wearing the promise ring he gave me!

"What's this?" I asked.

"It's the ring I was supposed to give you when I propose at Huma." He answered.

Tears began to fall as I heard his answer. I love him so much. It hurts that I'll be leaving him.

"I love you, okay? Have a safe flight. No goodbyes. See you soon, baby. I'll miss you." He lastly said and gave me a kiss on the lips.

This won't be our last time we'll see each other. I love you too...
