#52 - I Knew I Shouldn't

I loved the way he smiled.
I loved the way his voice sounded.
I loved the way his eyes sparkled.
I loved the way he greeted by a nod.

How could this be?
It shouldn't be meant to be.
I knew I shouldn't be.
Just infatuated, I better be.
III
Pathetic, and ridiculous.
What if I was too obvious?
Started to hide, hide, hide everything from him.
I even said that, "I don't love him."
IV
I couldn't have-- I shouldn't.
I was sure it would hurt
So I just tried to forget everything.
Away from him, I started running.
V
I looked back, and I regretted.
So much for the words I just uttered.
I closed my eyes and deeply breathe out.
I covered my face and said, "I knew I shouldn't."
