Fernando Alonso - Younger

"You coming Y/N?" Fernando asks as I put on my shoes.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Just let me grab my purse."

"Are you nervous?" Fernando asks as I grab my purse and put my phone in it.

"Yeah, I am. Are you?"

"Not really, I'm more focused on the race."

"Yeah, that makes sense. How do you think people will react though?" I ask as we make our way out of our hotel room together. Today we're telling the world that we're together. Well, we're not really telling them, we're showing them. For months, we've been hiding our relationship from the public, but today is gonna be the day that it becomes public.

"They'll probably say you're too young and just with me for money or something," Fernando says and I know he's right. With Fernando being 35 and me being 25, people are going to say nasty stuff for sure.

"Like we haven't heard that before," I sigh, thinking back to the moment we told both our parents about us. My parents thought Fernando was forcing me to date him whilst his parents thought I was just dating him for money. Let's just say it wasn't pretty.

"Are you sure you want this?"

"Yes, I am. I don't want to hide us anymore. I'm happy with you and I want us to be able to act like a couple in public. I don't want to think about who might see every time we're together."

"Alright, let's do this then," Fernando says as he takes my hand before walking out of the hotel, where a car is waiting for us. Luckily, there aren't any photographers around, so we can get to the track in peace before everything starts going crazy.

"What are you gonna say when people ask about us in interviews?" I ask as we never talked about this. Until this day, we've always told the world that we were friends and people never questioned that as we never did anything to make them think otherwise. Well, not in public that is.

"I'll tell them the truth, at least if the questions are not inappropriate."

"Okay," I say as we reach the track. The car pulls over and I'm about to get out when Fernando stops me.

"Are you okay with that?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Are you sure? Because I could just not answer those questions if you want to."

"No, no don't worry. We decided to tell the world and this is part of it. It's part of your job as well."

"Okay, just making sure," Fernando says before opening the door of the car. Both of us get out of the car and Fernando takes my hand before making we start making our way to the garage. This is it, this is when people will start to notice something is different.

"Fernando, good to see you. You ready for today?" Éric asks as he sees us walk into the McLaren garage. No one really said anything about us holding hands, which is nice. But I know people saw and will talk about it online.

"I'm very ready, I'm feeling good about this one," Fernando replies, still holding my hand. Éric already knew about us, so he isn't surprised.

"That's good, let's hope it results in a good race as well."

"Yeah, that would be nice."

"Alright, well I'll see you in a bit, I need to check some things before the race," Éric says before walking off.

"I'm gonna get changed," Fernando tells me.

"Alright, I'll just wait right here."

"Great, I'll be right back," Fernando says before giving me a quick kiss. I smile as Fernando walks off to the back. This is the first time he kissed me in the garage and the feeling was pretty amazing. Everyone around was too busy to notice, but that doesn't change how amazing it feels that we can finally do this in public.

"Are you okay Y/N?" Fernando asks when he comes back into the garage after the race. Camera's caught our kiss before Fernando went to the back and people are going crazy over it. Some people are loving it, some people are hating it, but everyone is responding to it.

"I am, don't worry. As long as I don't look at my phone, I'll be fine."

"Are you sure? People are going absolutely crazy. Éric just told me after I got out of the car. I'm sorry I wasn't with you when things exploded."

"That's okay, you were racing. Nothing you can do about it. You're here now."

"Okay, but I do have to go again, post-race interviews. Do you still want me to be honest when people ask about us?"

"Yeah, I do. It's the only way people will know the truth. Now they're just making up things."

"Alright, do you want to wait at the motorhome or at the hotel?"

"I'll wait here and we can leave together. Otherwise people are gonna start rumors about the fact we left separately."

'That's true. I won't be long, I promise!" Fernando says before kissing my softly.

"Good luck," I call after Fernando as he goes to the back to quickly change into normal clothes. I make my way to the motorhome to wait for Fernando there. As I make my way there, a lot of people are looking at me and I can feel them judging me. I decide to ignore it and just get to the motorhome as quickly as I can.

"Alright, I'm done!" Fernando says as he walks into the motorhome. I get up and walk towards him, giving him a kiss when I reach him.

"Hey, how were the interviews?"

"They were pretty good, nothing too crazy luckily."

"Anything about us?" I ask curiously and Fernando nods.

"Yeah, but just basic stuff, nothing inappropriate. I just told them that we were together and have been for a while. That we're very happy together and that the age difference doesn't matter to us."

"That's great, let's hope people will listen to it."

"Yeah, let's hope so. But let's get out of here now, I feel like having a relax night in with you."

"I like the sound of that," I say with a smile as Fernando takes my hand, leading me out of the motorhome. As we walk to the car, people watch us but we don't pay attention to them. All that matters is the two of us and we know how we feel about each other. No matter what anyone says.
