Justin's POV

"Justin, what's happening to you? Why are you crying? We can talk afterwards. Please behave your professionalism right now. Everyone is watching at us now.", Ariana whispered softly to me in an extremely low volume.

"She didn't make it.", I spoke in monotone which contains of sadness, heartbreak, tears and memories.

For a sudden, Ariana turned silent and looked at me in a worrying yet confusing look.

She didn't say anything but just look at me in silence as she literally had no idea how to respond to my sudden behavior.

I bit my lips and tried my best for not to break down, I repeated by telling her "Ariana, Elaine... Elaine... she didn't make it.".

However, this time, my voice was slightly cracky and shaky.

I held Ariana's wrist gently and dragged her into my office instantly without any hesitation even though I know literally everyone is eyeing on us but that doesn't matter anymore.

After being dragged by me away from the crowd into my office, she started asking me thousands of questions in confusion "Justin, what's happening? Why are you crying? What are you doing? Everyone was watching at us tho... Geez...".

I stayed silent sitting on my chair and didn't reply even a word to her. I shut my eyes and allowed the horrible memory to come across my mind.

~Flashback~

That angel. Every detail about her was printed clearly in my head. She's such an adorable angel. She's such a strong girl. I know she's going to make it, she's going to defeat her cancer and have a reunion with her family as soon as possible.

This could be the happiest moment in her life, she could finally get to see her parents. This is the moment that she's been waiting for. She couldn't just leave like this.

She must make it. I am waiting for her. Her parents are waiting for her. She doesn't deserve this. I wanted to see her smile immediately like the way she used to smile to me.

I believe in her.

After the torturing and horrendous hours outside of the emergency room, the light of emergency sign was turned off and the door of the operation room was opened.

I dashed to the surgeon instantly without any second thought and asked in a hurried tone "How is she now? Is she doing perfectly fine?".

The doctor didn't reply any word to me but his eyes moved slowly away from my eyes contact which started showing a bad sign to me.

I furrowed my eyebrows and didn't fully convince of his reaction. I asked him again by raising my voice at him "Surgeon, please tell me what's happening? How is she now? Please tell me that she's already awake inside there.".

However, my words to the surgeon had started heading to the negative side without any realization as I had already feeling something bad.

The surgeon took a long sigh and apologized to me "I am sorry, mister. We had already tried our best.".

For a second, my emotion broke down into the lowest point and my heart were ripping apart into pieces.

I faked chuckling and reassured with the surgeon "You must be joking with me, right? I mean she's still doing well few days earlier. How on earth will she leave me like that?".
