Chapter 17

Justin's POV

"Oh my gosh, Justin. What brings you here?", Joan welcomed me with a huge smile but surprise at my sudden appearance.

I held a smile and apologized to her politely "I am so sorry for disturbing you, I know it's kinda late now but I have to talk to you now.".

She giggled and replied with a welcome smile "It's okay. I am a late sleeper.". She looked around me and asked confusedly "Where's Ariana?".

I smirked and replied politely "She's not coming with me. She had already fall asleep.".

She held a smile and welcomed me in "Come on in, Justin.".

I entered her house and looked around the surrounding of the house, this place looked simple and clean.

I took a seat on the couch while Ariana's mom sitting across me with a nervous smile shown on her expression.

There's a few seconds of silence between us but I broke it by questioning her "Where's Miss Annie? You are staying with her, right?".

She nodded and said "Yes, she's already fall asleep. It's almost midnight now.".

I apologized to her again "Ya, I get it. I am sorry for disturbing you or maybe interrupting your sleep. I will finish this as quick as possible.".

I looked at her and asked politely "So, have you settled all your debts or your money issue?".

She nodded and thanked me instantly "Yes, thanks to you, Justin. Because of you, we are safe from those debtors. Thank you so much.".

I smirked and corrected her "No, thank to your daughter. She's the one who sacrificed herself and married to a man who's a stranger to her.".

She remained silent without forming a word to me. She stuttered by questioning me "Justin, what do you mean? Is anything happening to both of you?".

I shook my head and replied coldly "No, we are good. I am just trying to recall everything between us.".

I questioned her in a serious and curious tone "So, now all your debts are cleared, why don't Ariana leave me now? She can use me as a tool for her money issue. Now, she's free now, she can leave me now.".

Joan looked at me in shock but confusedly at the same time, she reassured with me "Justin, what's wrong with you both?".

I tightened my grip but tried to control my temper, I raised my voice a little and ordered her "Just answer me.".

She stuttered "Well, that's a part of the deal of the contract. You guys may sue us if Ariana divorced with you without having your child. Besides, she's your wife now.".

I muttered angrily "Deal... Deal... Deal.".

I stood up and showed her the contract in my hand "This is the contract between the marriage of Ariana and me, right?".

Her face turned pale and remained silent at my sudden attitude.

I furrowed my eyebrows and doubted her "What kind of mom is you? You traded your daughter for money. You sacrificed your daughter for a stupid contract. You arranged your daughter's marriage to a stranger, a man who doesn't deserve her.".
