Skye

Zoe walked back into my room, then smiled at me.

I smiled back, then waved.

"How ya' doin'?"

I shook my hand to show that I was mediocre.

"That's good, I think."

I laughed, but all that came out was a wheeze.

"You can leave the hospital in a few hours, they just want to do a few tests on why you're voice isn't working."

I nodded, then pointed at my ribs.

"Yeah, you bruised a few of your ribs."

I pointed to my legs.

Zoe gave me a sad smile.

"I'm sorry, but y-you have Partial Paralysis."

My eyes widened.

But I could move them.

Right?

I tried to move my right leg, but nothing was happening.

I tried to move my toes, and I could feel them move.

I smiled to myself, then pointed to my feet.

TOES MINE MOVE

"Oh, they are moving! Try your left foot."

I tried to move the toes on my left foot, and they moved!

I tried moving my ankle on my left foot, and it moved.

Zoe squealed for me.

I tried bending my left knee, but nothing happened.

I gave Zoe a small smile, then shook my head.

"But you can move your toes! That's ten toes that can move!"

I heard a laugh come from the doorway.

"How are you doing?" Cristina asked me.

I smiled then gave Cristina a thumbs up.

I pointed to her, then turned my head.

"Me? I'm doing fine."

"You can't talk, huh?" Another voice behind Cristina asked.

I turned my head to see Ashley.

I smiled.

"We need a girls night soon."

I nodded.

"Yeah, we do." Zoe added.

"Okay, when you get out of the hospital in a few hours, we are going over to my apartment and we're watching all of the movies." Ashley said.

"Sounds like a plan." Zoe said. "Skye, what foods do you want?"

I shrugged, then signed 'pizza' and 'cake'.

"Sounds like a plan!" Cristina said. "We should have some healthy things, but just to have in case."

"You understand sign language?" Zoe asked.

"Um, yeah. I learned it right before I started youtube. It was fun learning a non verbal language."

"Nice! Maybe you both could teach us some sign language later!"

I nodded.

"Hello, Miss Dahlberg."

I waved.

"So, every week, you have to come to this address to help with your partial paralysis and speech. Okay?"

I nodded.

"Alright. You are free to go once the doctors come back."

"Thank you, nurse."
