*5 Months Later*

Mia's Pov

Me and Rich were in bed sleeping, when I heard a loud knock at the door. I looked over at my clock and saw that it was 3:00 in the morning. Who the hell could be banging at my door this early. I hate when people mess with my sleep. I quickly got out of bed and threw my robe on.

"Bae where you going?" Asks Rich

"Someone's at the door. Go back to bed I'll be back in a minute."

He rolled over and went back to sleep. I made my way downstairs turning on the light.

When I got to the door I opened it and saw Natalie. She looked awful her hair was going everywhere and she had puffy red eyes. I could tell that something wasn't right.

"Natalie what's wrong?"

"They took him." Says Natalie

"Who?"

"Craig me and him were sleeping. When out of nowhere the police barged into our home. They dragged Craig out of bed and slammed him to the floor." Says Natalie

"Damn I knew this would happen sooner or later."

I know exactly why they came. I can't believe I actually thought we could get away with this. Thanks to me my friends are going to jail for a long time. They killed Rick my ex and now they must pay for it. I feel somewhat responsible for what happened.

"Come in."

Natalie walked in with Hazel trailing behind her. I almost didn't see her there she was so quiet.

We both sat down on the couch.

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I can't raise Hazel and Kaiden on my own. What am I going to do?" Asks Natalie

I rub her back trying to calm her down.

"We will get through this. I'm here for you, you know that. I wonder if the others are arrested?"

"Most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if Aaliyah and the others call you soon. The police weren't playing they getting everyone." Says Natalie

"This is crazy I don't even know what to say. We will fix this okay? Rich knows a lot of people and has connections. I'll make sure he gets you a good ass lawyer. We can't waste anytime. Craig, Jacob, Chris, and Ray are going to jail for a long time."

"I knew it was too good to be true. I kept telling myself that something bad would happen. With us nothing stays good for long. Somehow drama always follows us. All I can say is at least we got to say I do. I'll never forget that day. I will stay by Craig's side for better or worse." Says Natalie

"Good that's what I like to hear."

"I'm really tired. Can me and Hazel stay here for the night? I don't feel comfortable going back home after what happened." Says Natalie

"Of course you can. It's the least I can do. You and Craig welcomed me into your home when I got out of rehab. Think of it as me saying thank you."

"Mia I don't know what I would do without you." Says Natalie pulling me into a hug. I felt her stomach hit me.

"Whoa where did that come from?"

"Shut up Mia you know I've been gaining a lot of weight lately." Says Natalie

"I can't wait to see my little God son." ☺️

"Me either I'm ready for him to come out already." Says Natalie

I reach over and rub her belly.

"Aww I can feel him kicking." Says Natalie

"See you got all worked up now he's excited."

"I can't help it." Says Natalie

"Hey what's all this noise I hear downstairs?" Asks Rich walking into the living room.

"Sorry did we wake you?" Asks Natalie

"Yeah but it's alright. What's going on?" Asks Rich

"Craig got arrested." Says Natalie

"Damn I'm sorry to hear that. If you need my help I'm here. You know I gotchu." Says Rich

"Thanks that's good to know. I'm gonna go to bed now. This is too much for one day. Goodnight you guys." Says Natalie

"Goodnight boo."

She takes Hazel and walks upstairs.

"There gonna be staying with us for a little while."

"That's cool I don't mind. It's obvious that your friend needs you, I get it." Says Rich

I move closer to him and sit on his lap.

"Thank goodness your not into the streets. I have no idea how they deal with it. Having to worry whether he's dead, shot or in jail."

"I know it's a lot to deal with. Just know that I would never put you through that. Maybe now they learned their lesson. Your friends may love the streets, but the streets don't love them." Says Rich

"I feel so bad. It's all my fault Rich. Remember when I was with that guy Rick?"

"Yeah how could I forget I hated that nigga." 😒 says Rich

"Well anyway one day I was having dinner over Natalie and Rays house. Back when they were still together. Somehow Rick and Ray started arguing and Rick pulled his gun out on Ray. Ray didn't like being disrespected especially in his own home. I tried to leave Rick after what happened. That night I realized just how dangerous he really was. My friends kept telling me to leave him for a long time. Back then I was too young and blinded by the money to listen. When they killed Rick, we all made a promise not to tell anyone. That's the reason we moved to Miami in the first place. At first it was just to get away until things cooled down. But then we just stayed it felt right. Now all of our secrets are coming back to haunt us. It's funny how your actions can blow up in your face."

"Damn that's crazy. I had no idea Mia. I mean I knew you were in some trouble, but not this deep. I'm not gonna run away if that's what your thinking. Ima stay be your side through it all. I know you would do the same if the situation was switched around." Says Rich

"And this is why I love you so much. You always down for me no matter what."

"That will never change. I always gotchu Bae." Says Rich

"It's me and you until the end."

"Forever and always." Says Rich grabbing my face and kissing me.

I think I finally found the man of my dreams. We all know I have a bad history with men. But Rich he's just different. I can't even explain it all I know is I'm keeping him around for a while. 😩👌
