Is it really over?

Ray's Pov

I was so surprised when I got a incoming call from Natalie. I recently saw her at Mia's Welcome Home party. We might have said hi and bye, but that was it. Lately it seems like she's avoiding me.

"Hey Ray, it's Natalie." says Natalie

"Hey long time no see. How you been stranger? You went ghost on me."

"Yeah I know things have been crazy. I guess we've both just been really busy. I was calling to see if we could meet up. Maybe we can go out for lunch or something if you're free?" asks Natalie

"I'm free when and where?"

"Is today okay? I know it's kind of last minute. I was hoping we could meet at the little cafe' near your house?" Asks Natalie

"Sounds good to me."

"Okay I'll see you in a few." says Natalie

"I'm really glad you called."

"Me too see you soon. Bye." says Natalie before hanging up the phone.

Good thing Jelena is out of town this week. If she found out I was having lunch with my ex, she would be pist. She doesn't have to know everything. Truth be told I wasn't even feeling her like that. Jacob hooked me up with her. This is just a part of my plan to make Natalie jealous and get my girl back.

I take a quick shower and find something to wear. After my shower I leave my hair out it's starting to turn waving, from having my braids in for so long. I quickly get dressed and admire myself in the mirror.

I throw on a pair of blue Toms on my feet and head out I door.

When I get to the cafe' I see Natalie, sitting at a table.

She looks up and sees me starring at her. She waves to me and I walk over to the table.

"You made it." says Natalie with a big smile on her face. She gets up from the table and gives me a hug.

I can't remember the last time we've hugged. I wrap my arms around her not wanting to let her go.

We stand there for a minute each other's arm, until she breaks the silence.

"Let's sit down." says Natalie

I take a seat across from her.

"Did you already order?"

"Yes I ordered for you. I hope you don't mind." says Natalie

"Nah it's cool. So how you been?"

"Good. I've been so busy planning this wedding but i know all this hard work will be worth it. Then there's Hazel she's such a handful. She's so mature for her age it's not even funny. Her attitude is ridiculous I have no idea who she's gets that from." says Natalie

"Aww I miss her I haven't seen her in ages. You need to let me come see her sometime. I know we aren't together but I would still like to see her."

"I agree you should come see her. She talks about you all the time." Says Natalie

"Maybe I will if it's cool with Craig of course. Me and him aren't even on speaking terms."

"This beef you guys having going on is stupid. We talked last night. He's over it and wants to squash it. You guys have been friends for so long. I hate to get in the way of that. To be honest I love you both. That's why I called you here. I miss us being friends. We've been through a lot and I want you in my life. I never meant to hurt you by getting together with one of your best friends. I know that's against the code dating your friend. I'll always have a place in my heart for you. I love you as a friend." Says Natalie

"That's just it I don't want to be friends with you. I want you to be mine. I know I've missed up in the past. We all make mistakes I'm sorry for all the shit I put you through. I don't care about Jelena she's just someone I'm feeling for the minute. I could have any girl I want, but I want you."

"We can't be together Ray. I'll admit when I saw you at Aaliyah Friday night dinner I was jealous. Seeing that you moved on to someone else. I guess I was just used to you wanting me. But then I realized we just can't be together. I'm in love with Craig now." says Natalie

"I'd rather be friends than not have you in my life at all. They say that when you love someone, sometimes you have to let them go. So I'll let you go. Just remember that I'm always gonna be here for you. Whenever you need someone to talk to, or just a shoulder to cry on. Hey even if you need a babysitter for Hazel."

"Ray that's so sweet of you. Any girl would be lucky to have you. I'm sorry it's not me. I just want you to be happy." says Natalie

"Just seeing you today, has made me happy. You always put a smile on my face. I'm an idiot to miss up the good thing that I had." 😫😔

"You don't have to keep beating yourself up about it. What happen between us is in the past. I forgive you for everything, because of you I'm a stronger person. I wouldn't be the person I am today without you. I wish you and Jelena the best okay. I have to go but call me sometime. I ordered your favorite I ate before you came. Goodbye Ray." says Natalie she's gets up from the table and turns to leave. Before she goes, Natalie stops and kisses me on the cheek. Then turns to leave. I watch as she leaves out of the cafe'. I could go run after her right now. I know that probably wouldn't work. I really thought she was gonna get back together with me. 😐

I completely lost my appetite. When my food come I don even bother to eat it. I pay for the food and leave. I think I'm breaking things off with Jelena. At this point I don't want a relationship with anyone. I need time to focus on myself for once.

I decide to make amends with Craig. We aren't gonna be the best of friends like before. I don't think it'll ever be the way it used to be. We can at least be friends. I'm doing this not for Craig but for Natalie. I just want her to be happy. I don't want to cause her anymore pain.
