Still Harry’s P.O.V;

“You haven’t called in a while, what’s wrong?” Is the first thing I heard from my mum when she picked up the phone. I rolled my eyes, a smile playing at my lips as I listened to her voice.

“I called you on my birthday,” I reminded her.

“No, I called you,” she said. “What’re you up to?”

“Erm. I’m just sitting in bed.” I looked around my empty dorm.

“Shouldn’t you be asleep?”

“’m not tired.”

“Not tired, or you have something to tell me?”

“Not to tell you, so much.”

“Then what is it?”

“I want… Advice? I guess? Advice. Yeah.”

“Oh.” She said, and I heard shuffling on the phone. She stopped shuffling and I could imagine her smiling. “Right, how can I help?”

“Erm. It’s about my love life. Kinda.”

“Well you moved on from E-”

“Don’t,” I sighed. “You know I never intended to ask her out anyway.”

“Sorry, pet. She was just upset when she came back.”

“Understandable,” I murmured, playing with my laces, which were suddenly the most interesting thing in the world.

“What’s going on? What’s so important that you need my advice?”

“Right. Um, there’s this girl…” She hummed. “And I, um… I don’t know, I like her? I guess? A lot. I mean, she’s really cute.”

“Cute in what sense?” Mum asked, and I rolled my eyes.

“Personality wise,” I said. “And looks,” I added, as an afterthought.

“Right…”

“I was gonna ask her out or something, yeah?”

“So why are you calling me?”

“There’s this one flaw…”

“What is that?”

“I think, at times, she really hates me.”

I could almost hear the frown in her voice. “Why?”

“Erm… A few disputes here and there. But, that’s not the point. The point is that I really -- like, really like her, but I don’t know if she feels the same way.”

“Right… Well, you could take a chance, right?”

“I could but… She’s also really insecure.”

“Oh,” she tutted.

“Sometimes she looks so broken, and it sounds so stupid because I shouldn’t feel this way -- not after Leila -- but, I just want to pick her up and cuddle her… Does that make sense? Or does that sound gay?”

“Don’t use gay as an insult,” mum tutted.

“Sorry. I’m just really stressed.”

“So you’re falling in love with a broken girl?”

“I wouldn’t say falling in love,” I muttered.

“Okay… You really like a broken girl.”

“Yeah, that’s it… But, like, can I fix her? Or… That sounds so insensitive.”

“Oh pet,” mum muttered, sympathy etched in her voice. “When something is broken, you can't fix it.”
