The faeries, they were after me. Their long, spiny legs trampled the blood red roses under their bear feet. I could feel their breath on my neck; cold and piercing. The back of my neck was aching from the yearn to look round a their menacing faces, but that would only lure them closer. Even the sound of their minute whispers frightened me. My mouth was dry from running at this speed, but it was going to get dryer.

Blue, icicle like arms reached for my shoulder, and grabbed. Razor sharp, now flesh covered nails scraped the surface of my skin, and below. The pain was tearing me apart, but they were getting closer. I gathered up all the energy I had left, and told my legs to carry me as fast as they possibly could. My brain was rattling violently inside my head, my arms pumping like a soldiers, my legs hardly hitting the ground with great speed, my heart beating louder and louder, until, the noise of feet stopped.

I stopped.

I shouldn't have, but I turned round.
