(the one after everyone left)

"You really don't have to help me with the dishes, Isaiah." I told him for the trillionth time in the night.

"I insist. We all ate tonight. It's the least I can do for having us over."

"Now you're talking like a dad, please stop." I joked and threw him some water.

"What, Gabby, don't you want me to be your daddy?" He asked, to which we kept quiet for a second. After a while, we both just cracked out.

"Alright, I'm going to give you some friend advice right here, Is." I looked at him and laughed. "Please, do not ever try to get a girl with that line. I can tell you, it won't work."

"I know it won't. I'm just so awkward with girls."

"Nah, I've seen you at school, Is, girls are staring as you walk by." I told him.

"That's because they haven't actually talked to me. Once they do, they act differently, trust me."

"Doubt it, Is."

"Please don't call me Is, it sounds girly." He laughed and I laughed with him, admitting how badly it sounded.

We stayed silent for a while. However, after some moments, he spoke.

"You aren't dating Harry, are you?"

At this, the plate that I was holding fell off my hands and shattered against the floor.

"What?" My voice sounded way more high pitched than it normally did. "Why would you say so?"

"Gabby, you don't have to lie, I won't say anything to anyone, I promise."

"Why would you say something if there's nothing to say? There's nothing to tell, Isaiah, don't be so foolish." I spoke so quickly and I knew he knew I was lying, but I couldn't act better. "Anyway, why don't you want me to call you Is? I really don't think that it sounds girly."

"Gabrielle, c'mon, don't change the topic..."

"Isaiah, I ain't changing anything. I just think that there's nothing to talk about here..."

"Gabrielle, for real."

"Isaiah, for real."

"Gabrielle, listen." He licked his lips as he talked, but I didn't stare. Instead, I picked up a broom to start sweeping the shattered plate. "I don't care if you're lying. I mean, it doesn't concern me. If anything, I wanna know it, so that I can help. As a friend. No big deal."

Nonetheless, I didn't speak.

"Gabrielle, I know that I'm not someone that you've known for too long and I don't blame you for not trusting me, but I'm guessing that you're having a hard time if what I'm saying is true." I tried to keep ignoring him, but he insisted. "To be honest, I don't understand why would you do this. You're a beautiful young lady and you could literally get any guy that you wanted."

"You are seriously speaking like a dad." I laughed and he did too.

"But what I'm saying is true, Gabrielle." He confessed. "I like you a lot and ever since I met you with Harry I knew that there was something off about you too. I never understood what, but I figured that it didn't matter because, well, you weren't my friend. Besides, I convinced myself that I was just being paranoid. However, today I saw it...when they asked you if you had ever liked any other One Direction member..."
