Game 49 - Emma and Andy seem domesticated

“Come kids, let’s go.” Emma said and proceeded on walking first with the kids.

Andy stayed behind. He smiled tightly at Caleb. “Nice seeing you Caleb.”

“Who’s Knave?” he asked, he didn’t want to beat around the bush. He wanted answers.

“We adopted him. He’s French, he was abandoned on the road and we took him in.” Andy said. “Emma created a bond between them and so we adopted him and gave him a home.”

“Isn’t it adoption requires you to be married?” tanong niya, eto ang isang tanong na ayaw niyang diretsahan na itanong.

“Yeah well, if you have the money and the means you can be easily approved.” Andy said. “And Knave, he’s a good boy but the system has already hundreds of kids they’re supporting so instead of getting him to the system, we took care of it.”  

“It’s a good thing, what you’ve given the boy.” He said, he admired both of them actually, to adopt a stranger, to give him home requires so much. Requires commitment.

Andy nodded and smiled. “He also gave us something Caleb. He helped in some way to heal Emma. He brought happiness not only to Emma but to us all.” He smiled. “I need to go. We’re having dinner with friends tomorrow night. Come if you can.” He said and then he reached out on his pocket, he took out his wallet and handed me a card. “This is where we live right now.” he said and walked away.

Of course he would go because damn it he would do anything just to get a glimpse of Emma. Kahit haggang tingin nalang ang kaya niyang gawin, kahit hindi na pwede dahil masaya na ito sa piling ng iba.

Hindi niya ipagkakait kay Emma yung kasayahan na nakuha nito kasama si Andy at ang pamilyang binuo ng dalawa. So even just for a glimpse, he’d take it. He’d take anything just to see her, see her smiles.

The next day, Caleb brought a wine for the dinner. Pagkatapos ay nagpunta na siya sa The Emerald Hotel kung saan tumutuloy sila Andy at Emma. Saktong pagkadating niya sa reception ay nandun din si Charlene at Ethan.

Binati niya ang dalawa, binigyan ng receptionist si Ethan ng visitor’s pass para sa elevator. Sabay na silang tatlong naglakad papunta sa elevator. When the elevator door opened, Ethan swiped the card that will directly take them to the penthouse suite.

Medyo awkward ang paghihintay sa elevator siguro dahil na rin eto siya, papunta sa dinner party na hinanda ng ex girlfriend niya at ng bago nitong boyfriend kung sakali man.

Nang nagbuksan ang elevator ay pinauna na niyang palabasin sila Ethan at Charlene. He needed to compose himself first. Lumabas siya ng elevator at naglakad papunta sa foyer ng penthouse suite.

“Hi.” A disheveled Emma greeted them. She was a mess but still beautiful. Nakasuot ito ng apron at may flour sa mukha at sa ibang bagahi ng katawan nito. “Come on in. The other’s are at the living room.” Sabi nito at inaya sila papunta sa living room.

Habang naglalakad sila papunta sa living room ay napansin ni Caleb ang nagkalat na gamit, may mga box na nakabukas at may iba naman na may tape pa. May mga laruan din na nagkalat pati mga libro. Pati may mga damit din ng mga bata ang nagkalat.

“Sorry about the mess.” Emma turned around and smiled at them sheepishly. “We haven’t got time to organize.”

“Dito kayo titira permanently Ate?” Charlene asked.

“No not really. Wala pa kasing nahahanap na bahay kaya dito muna kami.” Emma answered. They reached the living room and right there was their friends. “I’ll get you glasses for the wine.” Sabi nito at naglakad na paalis ng living room.
