"You think that I'm some prize that can be won?!"
I stood up and looked at her. Then at my classroom full of freshman. Some looked horrified by a screaming senior and the other half of the boys seemed to be transfixed.
Leave it up to me to be jealous of freshman.
Then she noticed them.
"Oh, you don't have planning..."
I just nodded my head.
"And that class is what seniorites is like." She said coving it up, "shouting random things with no meaning."
"Right, now, class continue with the assignment. I will be right back."
We stepped out into the hallway.
     "What are you talking about?"
"You and Bennett's plan to push me from one to the other."
     "But he's leaving for Athens."
"We're not doing this." She said, "and sorry for scaring your freshman class."
"You wouldn't have came all the way up here if there wasn't something..."
"This was a terrible mistake. I'm going to go."
"Kate, don't go."
"...I'm going to go."
She left and I walked back into my class.
Well, for once, Bennett was right.
*****Kate*****
"Hey."
I ignored Kyle.
"Kate. I have to tell you something."
"What, Kyle?" I asked turning around, "what could you possibly need?"
"I got into Mercer...."
"Let me guess. Kendal did too." I said.
Then his face registered. He looked sad. Sadder than a guy that just got into his dream school should be.
     "What is it?"
     He took a deep breath.
"No, she turned it down. She wants to go with you and Tony to West Georgia."
I looked at him.
"Oh Kyle. I'm so sorry."
He shrugged his shoulders.
"Please tell me you're going with us. Kendal can't know."
He looked upset.
"I know, right now it would kill her, but I can't do anything else. I really want to go there, but I know that I probably should go with you guys."
He was stuck between a rock and a very hard place. Go to his dream school, or follow the girl of his dreams.
"Whatever you plan, tell her upfront and unfiltered."
"I know." He said nodding his head, "I know."
