Dan's Pov
It had been exactly two years since Phil disappeared.
He left no trace, not even a note saying where he might go or why he had left. As I usually did when I woke up, I was sitting on his bed, my nose working furiously to gather up the last of his scent still left in his room. It was becoming progressively more difficult to do so the longer he was gone, and I wanted with every fibre of my being for him to be here with me. Although, I suppose then I wouldn't even be what I was.
As I finally left the bedroom, I remembered that I had no cereal left for breakfast. Haha, Phil probably- no, he couldn't eat my cereal anymore; he wasn't here. It still hadn't really clicked in my brain that he was gone. I dejectedly picked up one of Phil's old jackets and stuck one arm through, followed quickly by my other one, then locked the door before beginning the short walk to the nearest convenience store.
I kicked a small rock along the sidewalk as I walked, not bothering to look up to make sure I wasn't about to run into anything. I quickly reached the store, although it still took longer than it should have because of my slow pace. I went over to aisle three and picked up the first interesting looking box I found, then decided since I was there I should grab a jug of milk. Still staring at the ground, I didn't notice the person in front of me, and it wasn't until it was too late to stop that I realized I was about to walk into them.
Stumbling backwards a bit as I did so, I quickly apologized and walked around him to grab a carton of milk. As I turned back, I saw that his previously dull blue eyes had briefly brightened, and his hand was hovering slightly. His eyes quickly went back to their original shade, though, and he slowly lowered his hand back down.
Only slightly perturbed, I took my things up to the cash to pay for them. Afterwards, as I was about to leave, I realized I hadn't been given my receipt. It didn't really matter, but I wanted something to complain about, so I turned back to tell the cashier.
I froze as I saw the evil glint in the eyes I found staring back into mine. Oh crap.
"Something you wanted?" she asked, her voice coated in sugar and a sweet smile playing across her lips. But I knew they it wasn't real.
"No, never mind," I squeaked back, hurriedly turning back towards the door and rushing out into the crowded streets. A few moments later, I saw the man I had bumped into earlier rushing to get away from the store, terror clear in his eyes. Maybe he knew who the cashier was too?
Maybe he could help me? Knowing I didn't have many other options, I started following the man, eventually losing track of him in the huge crowds and wandering the streets helplessly, attempting to find him again. After walking up and down that particular road three or four times, I started looking into alleys trying to spot him. Just as I was about to give up, I decided to double check the last side street, at the very end at the road I was on, just in case. I knew there was basically no chance he would be there, but I didn't want to give up that easily.
And there he was; his baggy jacket's sleeve rolled up, a knife poised at his wrist, ready to slice. And that was when I finally recognized him.
"Phil?"

Hai everyone! So... how's life?
Mine's not terrible, I guess.
Anyway, I don't know if I've already said anything about it in this book, but I'm going to anyway; I have a oneshot book that I started not long ago, so if any of you would like to go read it... and maybe vote and comment a little... it would be great. (Shameless self promo)
May you one day get to go to MCR's reunion tour! (It will happen)
