Dan's Pov

I was in complete shock.

Phil's heart had just stopped beating, and then as soon as I had given up hope of the nurse somehow restarting it, Phil had vanished.

Just vanished.

His clothes had been left behind, and now lay in a crumpled heap on the hospital bed.

I felt myself growing dizzy.

I tried to hold myself up using a chair, but I just fell down, knocking the chair over in the process. My vision started slowly growing black, and then, all of a sudden, I passed out.

Phil's Pov

I woke up, very confused, in my bed at home. How had I ended up here?

The last thing I remembered was jumping in front of Nick's knife and passing out in the parking lot of that vet's.

I sat up, but fell backwards again as a huge wave of pain hit me, starting in my head and creeping down to one certain spot on my stomach.

Where I had been hit with the knife.

I tried again, slightly slower this time, to get up, and this time I succeeded.

I stretched my legs a bit and looked down to realize I had woken up completely naked.

I blushed a bit for some reason (I mean it's not like anyone was looking at me) and went to put some clothes on. I decided maybe just putting on pyjamas would be a good idea.

Once I was fully clothed, I sat back down on my bed for a bit, thinking.

As far as I knew, I should have been dead.

Maybe I was?

No, that wouldn't make much sense, out my window I could see people I recognized, who were still alive, and why would death look exactly like my flat anyway?

I tried again, as hard as I could, to remember. But I had no clue what had happened.

Dan's Pov

I woke up in a hospital bed away from Phil's room with a nurse staring down at me, concern in his eyes.

"Hi," he said. "Are you alright? You fainted back there."

I read his name tag and saw his name was "Rory Williams".

"Yeah...yeah I'm fine," I replied, my voice a little hoarse. "Can I please just go home?"

"Um... yeah, you should be fine, just get some rest and drink lots of water today."

He motioned to the door, a kind of sideways smile on his face, and waved as I left the room.

As I walked out of the large building and breathed in the fresh air, I decided to walk home so I could do some thinking.

Five minutes after I made this decision, I was sitting in the back of a taxi, on my way home.

I walked up the many stairs to the door and slipped my key into the keyhole, pulling it back out as I walked into the flat.

I nearly fainted again on my way to my room.

On my way past, I had glanced in Phil's room, just to see if it still looked the same. I don't even know why I had expected it to be any different. But I saw something in there I really didn't expect to see.

There was Phil, sitting on the edge of his bed, his head in his hands. When he heard me waking past, though, he looked up and smiled.

"Come on in, Dan. Maybe you can help me out a bit..."

I ran into his room, probably going faster than I ever had in my life. Once I was halfway to his bed, I launched myself towards him and landed on top of him, knocking him backwards. I wrapped my arms around him in a huge hug, and after a bit he also put one arm around me, although he was a bit more tentative for some reason.

I just stayed there like that for maybe twenty minutes, crying sweet tears of happiness onto Phil and his bed. I couldn't believe he was still alive.

How was this even possible?

Actually, I really didn't care, because he was here anyway.

I smiled when I thought that. Phil was still here, he was still with me, he hadn't died.

And with that in my mind, I closed my eyes and rested my head on Phil's chest, falling asleep within minutes.

I don't really like this chapter very much, but it's past 11:00pm and I can't be bothered to rewrite it again. I hope you guys like it anyway.

May you one day never have to see another whisk ever again (I don't think that really made any sense, but oh well)
