I was currently at Thomas's house. We all knew that Newt would be arriving about a half an hour later than everyone else, so during that half an hour we devised a plan.

The plan was being set into motion the moment Minho sent a text to Newt saying that he should come to the backyard through the garage.

Okayy... was Newt's response. He seemed suspicious, but it didn't affect the sequence of events one bit.

We dragged the ladder out, Thomas climbed it and sat on the roof. He was prepared as we handed him an important object and moved the ladder so there would be no more suspicion.

"He's here!" Teresa quietly yet frantically stated, "Act natural!"

Of course Minho was the one to strike the most unnatural pose ever, for which I smacked his arm. He gave me a look of pain and I waved it off.

"Hey guys, I-" Newt started to say when the plan succeeded.

Thomas dropped a huge water balloon on his head and even though Newt was startled, a full on water battle took place in Thomas's backyard after Newt shouted,

"This is bloody war!!"

By the time Thomas had jumped off of the roof, water balloons were flying everywhere. Water guns were being handed out I was running around, nearly slipping from everything being so wet.

Newt was chasing after me, and we both crashed to the ground, laughing hysterically.

His hair was plastered to his face, and while I sat on the wet ground, I squeezed my shirt and water droplets splattered down.

We laughed even harder because literally everything was wet in the backyard. Plus, there were colorful pieces of the fallen water balloons deserted all over the lawn.

"TIME OUT!" Thomas shouted, "WE DRENCHED THE PLACE!"

All of my friend group (aka the Gladers) were joining in on our laughter. After all, what could be a better time than going to a very wet war in the blazing sun with your best friends?
