Morning Calls

The Next Week...

Maine was still sleepy when she heard her phone rang. Thinking that it must be her husband, she picks it up and answered, "Hello"

"Meng! Meng! What is this?!"

She immediately sits up from her bed and stare at her cellphone, the name who appear on its screen was Oreo. She knotted her brows. What could have made her react like this early in the morning?

"Oreo?"

"Hey! Yes, it's me. Meng, it's all over the news and the internet. The fans are asking for confirmation. Others were already becoming your anti's and some was just okay with it. How are you? Is everything alright? I'll like----",

"Wait, Oreo...will you please slow down. I can't catch up on what you're saying"

"What?! You've just woken up? We're on chaos now!"

Maine grew more curious as to what her friends were saying.

"What are you talking about, Oreo?"

Before Oreo can answer her, her landline on the bedside table rings.

"Wait, I have another call coming..."she said and pick up the handset.

"Hel---"

"Nicomaine Mendoza! Explain this to me!" it was Ate Pat's voice that greeted Maine

"Huh?" Maine was left dumbfounded by Ate Pat's sudden outburst.

Just then her other phone rang; she sighed and stand up to get the phone from her hand bag.

"Hello"

"Meng! Is it true?! Is it true?!", Maine easily recognize Patricia's voice from the other line since she has been fully awaken by now due to the calls she's receiving.

"Wait, Patring. I don't know what you're talking about"

"It's about---"

"Don't answer me yet..." she said before going back to her bed. She put her cellphone on speakerphone, her landline and her other phone.

Once she was done she answers all of them...

"Okay. Good morning to all of you, too", she said reminding her friends that it still early in the morning.

Oreo, Ate Pat and Patricia greet her simultaneously, "Good morning"

"Wait, whose voice is that," asked Patricia

She answers Patricia, "I've put all of you in speakerphone...Oreo and Ate Pat was also on my other phones"

"So, what's all the commotion about?" Maine asked calmly.

Ate Pat was the one who answered her, "An article with photos and a video was spreading through out different media about you possibly dating Alden Richards"

Maine was not shock about the news. She was actually expecting it to come out after the airing of the reality show where she and Alden guessed in, which is still yet to be aired on national televirion.

They were informed that the director will not edit out their participation on the show...But since the show's guest has too many fanbase, Behind-The-Scenes pictures and videos have come out. She can only guessed that some reporters might have check into something and finally manage to get some little facts right about Alden and her...It's only natural for her friend to be worried for her, she had not still told them yet about the truth.

A couple of seconds passed...and the other three on the phone lines did not hear an answer from Maine.

Oreo's gasped was heard loud and clear. "Oho! It's true isn't it?"

She nodded though she knows that they can't see her. Instead she answered, "I want to see all of you, when are you free?"

There was silence at first, and then Patricia said, "I'm free from one o'clock in the afternoon till night."

"I have a shooting until about two pm", Ate Pat said.

Oreo sighed then said, "My schedule is until 5pm"

Maine thinks for a while. Silence greeted her friends. She wants to meet them before revealing and giving a statement to the media. Her friends matter first.

"So...ahm...Does that mean I can't talk to you today?" she still asked.

"We need to talk", Ate Pat firmly stated.

"How about we all meet about 8pm tonight? I think everyone was free by then", suggested by Oreo

"I'll call the others, they surely heard about it. They might be just too busy", Patricia said.

Maine shrugged her shoulders before saying, "I'll clarify everything once we're all together".

No one answer her. She sighed; they must be all worried and anxious for her.

"Wait, where would we all meet?" asked Oreo

"Triple A office", Ate Pat said immediately

"That's too formal Ate Pat", Patricia opposed.

"I think I know a great place", Maine said.

"Where?" Oreo asked.

"I'll text the location to all of you."

Ate Pat, Oreo and Patricia all said, "Okay"

"Sorry for making you all worry for me", Maine said knowing that they'll about to end there phone conversation.

"We're like a sister, that's why"

"We'll sort this out"

"I'll see you later then"

All three hung up after saying goodbye.

Maine laid her body on the bed and stare at the ceiling. It was the time she had been waiting for. No more pretence, no more hiding, all secrets will be out in the open, finally...to her friends.

She imagines Alden's smiling face and smile to herself. Unconsciously she put her hands on the top of her belly and felt her stomach being weird. In a matter of seconds she was into the bathroom...

Her morning was just starting and incidents keeps on coming, making sure that her day will be a memorable one on her entire life...

Once she was finished vomiting on the water sink, she quickly washes her face and look at the mirror in front of her. Thinking what could be happening to her?

Have I eaten something bad last night?

She stares at her reflection and shake her head, refusing to think anything at the moment.

"Honey, I hope you're here", she said hoping that Alden was on her side and remembers...something that they both needed to do.
