Fire - thats all I could see. Everywhere around me fire danced setting anything in its path alight, The entire academy was on fire, what started as a small flame in one stable block had turned into a large bonfire. Horses squealing out of terror and pain filled my ears as I ran through the stable blocks unlocking as many stable doors as I could, sending horses running blindly away from the flames. As the air around me got darker and filled with the toxic smoke I battled to open the last stable door all horses either free or already facing their premature fate . Coughing wildly I managed to unjam the last stable door and watched as the horse ran barely escaping the burning roof that dropped covering the only exit ... I was trapped.
Struggling to breath I looked around frantically trying to find another way out but fire and smoke filled my view, as I took in a deep breath I collapsed being starved from oxygen for to long. The last thing I heard was the desperate cries of a nearby horse as it too experienced what I presumed was my last breath.
