-Valerie-

The soft breeze flows through my entire body sending a shiver down my spine.

It's so cold in this large black escalade, but I don't really mind.

The chilly air doesn't seem to bother me as much as I thought it would.

I glance at him and look back out the window to where the perfect mansion looking houses are aligned one by one next to each other.

They all look the same, if only I had a house that big...

I look at the rear view mirror and see my sister, she looks upset.

I look back at him and see that he's gripping the wheel aggressively.

I quickly look away. He hates it when i stare at him.

I focus my eyes back on the houses and their perfect shape.

My thoughts are interrupted when my younger sister, Summer, yells at Gavin.

"Could you please put another song. I hate this music."

When I look at Gavin he looks tense, really tense.

She must have been annoying him the whole ride but I was so lost in my own thoughts that I ignored the conversation that was occurring.

"Summer stop being so mean to Gavin," I warn her.

She crosses her arms in front of her chest and huffs.

Why did I agree to take a seven year to the beach? She doesn't even deserve it.

I heard her telling mom how she didn't want to come to the beach in the first place.

It's ironic really, mainly because her name is summer yet her favorite season is winter.

I almost smile at the thought but I'm too annoyed to do so.

Gavin then tells her, "You should listen to your sister, your lucky we're taking you to the beach anyways."

After a small pause he adds, "your acting like a brat."

I scowl at Gavin for being to harsh to Summer. When I look back at her, her face is bright red on her pale skin.

This isn't going to end well. We all sit in silence for the rest of the ride.

I stare back out the window and roll it up halfway. I've had enough wind blown in my face for the day.

Besides with all the drama that these two have stirred up, I'm actually excited to go to the beach.

Before the incident, I haven't been in ocean water for a long time. Five years to be exact.

I could never step back into the large mass of water, ever. I still remember how much I loved the beach before it happened.

I would sit with my friends on the wet sand and we would all make jokes and play spin the bottle. Typical fifteen year old stuff.

More like stupid shit to keep us occupied.

I remember when he would walk with me and talk about his sister. He loved his little sister with his life.

Im not talking about Gavin, really Not Gavin.

This guy was nicer, way nicer. He was best friends with my cousin, James, and my Brother Jake. Hell, I think he still still is.

He was so perfect when we were younger. I had a huge crush on him.

It was only three years ago when I met Gavin that I let go of my child hood love. I still want to know if he ever felt the same about me..

I wish that I could tell someone all of this but I can't, especially not Gavin. He doesn't let me express my feelings to him.

I can't even cuss in front of Gavin, he's to high class for cussing. It's 'ghetto' and 'unstable' for our relationship. What a joke!

I shake my head to get rid of the thoughts that are already getting me annoyed.

I love him no matter how much he makes me hold back my thoughts.

The rest of the ride is silent. As he drives into a parking spot next to a jet black Camaro I can't help but smile at the fact that in a couple of minutes I'll feel the soft sand between my toes and the sweet breeze against my cheek.

"Finally!" Summer lifts the lock from the top of the large door and swings it open. The door slams behind her.

Gavin let's out a deep sigh and I place my hand over his.

"I'll go talk to her," I tell him calmly. Then I add, "I love you."

He nods and responds by saying "I love you too."

He hates it when I say too yet here he is saying it to me.

I'm sure that there is some type an ulterior motive behind his word choice.
