#28 Distraction

"So do you think we'll get that shipment in later on today, or tomorrow? I wasn't planning on coming in, but I will if I have to," Harry informs his boss. Sometimes I hated the fact that he was a manager. Unlike an employee, everything was on him. It was his job to make sure everything at the furniture store ran smoothly.

Even if that meant going in after hours, which took away from our time together.

Now, people may wonder why a 22-year-old man with college degree is working at a furniture store, but the answer is simple. His grandfather owned one before he passed, so now he feels the need to follow in his footsteps. For a little while, that is. He had another career plan in mind.

I watch as he puts the phone between his shoulder and ear and peels off a yellow sticky note. His eyebrows are furrowed in concentration as he begins jotting stuff down, shipping information I assume.

"Ok, so tomorrow morning at seven?" He confirms, pulling his lower lip between his teeth. "Great, great. Thank you very much, sir." He smiles.

Tired of sitting, I get up from the couch and walk over to him. He glances at me, but only for a second. I roll my eyes and sigh. "Harry," I say quietly. "Are you almost done?"

He pulls the phone away from his ear. "Yeah. I'll only be a few more minutes, baby," he assures me.

I nod and wrap my arms around his waist. He kisses my forehead before pressing the phone back to his ear.

"Mhmm, mhmm," he hums. "Oh, she's doing alright. I'm actually with her right now," he says. His boss must've asked about me.

Smirking, I stand on my tiptoes and begin peppering tiny kisses down neck. Goosebumps rise on his skin.

"H-hold on one moment, sir." He sets the phone down.

The next thing I know, he's cupping my face and kissing me passionately. His warm lips fit perfectly against mine.

"You're such a distraction," he breathes.

I honestly couldn't be happier about that.
