45: Real

Third Person P.O.V

Jade sat in the room that she believes is fake. Hydra is still playing one of their stupid tricks. Steve would come into the room and set a plate down on the table for Jade but she refused to eat. Steve didn't want her to starve. Johnny was fighting the urge not to take Steve's place and go into Jade's room. Johnny still had feelings for Jade but decided to be a gentleman since Jade was in a relationship with Flag Boy. Jade continued to stare at the wall waiting for it to fade and she would be in the cell that they kept her in for two months. Steve had walked into the room with a plate of macaroni & cheese. Jade looked up at Steve.
"Tell Hydra to stop playing these tricks. I know none of this is real" Jade said.
"Jade all of this is real. I promise you that everything around you is real" Steve said setting the plate on the table. Jade scoffed slightly.
"I know your fake" she said.
"Jade" Steve said in a warning tone, "all of us are real."
"I'm still not believing it" Jade said smiling. Steve stood there with his arms crossed over his muscular chest.
"Well... You better start believing cause things are gonna happen, Jade. I want you fighting with us against Hydra" Steve said. Jade looked up at Steve.
"The real Steve Rogers would know something about me. What are the exact words did I say when I woke you up in the middle of the night because I couldn't reach the Oreos?" Jade challenged. Steve raised his eyebrows and chuckled at the old memory.
"I can't reach the Oreos because I'm too short" Steve said. Jade's eyes widened at the correct words that were spoken. She narrowed her eyes at Steve before standing up slowly.
"What happened the first time we met?" She asked as she crossed her arms knowing he wouldn't get this right.
"You broke my nose with your foot" He said making her eyes widen.
"Well..." Jade trailed off.
"You're away from Hydra" Steve said. Jade had tears in her eyes. She ran at Steve and hugged him tightly burying her face into his chest. Steve gently took her face from his chest and kissed her lips. He pulled away and looked into her blue eyes, "eat that mac'n'cheese before it gets cold. I almost blew up the kitchen trying to make it."
"Thanks" Jade said as Steve wiped her tears away with a small smile. Jade rushed over to the bowl of cheesy goodness and shoveled a spoon full into her mouth. She hummed in satisfaction.

Jade's P.O.V
I felt so relieved to know that I was home. I was home in Steve's arms. Winter had rushed into the room and gave me a bunch of kisses. Lucy ran in and hugged me tightly. I had taken a shower and changed my clothes. Lucy sat with me on the bed and watched a movie with me. I was happy to be back here at the tower. Well I was technically here for a long while without believing it. Steve had came into the room and laid down with me and Lucy. Lucy laid in the middle of us. I felt happy to be back.

Flashback

"Okay said if you could do anything over again what would it be?" Steve asked as we walked down the pathway at Central Park. People walked past us with their loved ones or their dogs. Mine and Steve's hands were intertwined as we walked. We decided to leave the tower a little bit while Emma gives Adam an interrogation. Who knows what she'll do?!
"Maybe be a hero from the start instead of the enemy" I answered his question.
"You're not the enemy anymore, Jade" he said letting go of my hand and wrapping his arm around my shoulder pulling me close to him. Johnny and Ella had actually went on their date. Johnny has been more happy and full of energy like the old Johnny use to have all the time.
"Thanks for trying to make me feel better" I said smiling as I looked up into his blue eyes that made my stomach flutter. I always felt safe around Steve. I felt protected when I was holding his hand. It was so comforting to know someone loved me. Well instead of my family loving me. Me and Steve have been together for a few months now. And we also took the job of taking care of Lucy. Speaking of Lucy she was skipping ahead of us with excitement. We decided to take her outside so she could see the rest of New York. I felt like all my worries were gone.
"You're welcome" Steve said kissing my head as Lucy picked up a flower and ran back over to us.
"That's very pretty, Lucy" I said as she put the flower into her hair.
"Hey Lucy, how would you feel about going to school and meeting kids your age?" Steve asked messing up Lucy's head of blonde curls.
"I don't know" Lucy mumbled as we continued to walk through the park.
"You're gonna be fine. I went to school when I was your age and I was fine" Steve lied. I knew about him being bullied on the playground when he told me his little story.
"Really?" She asked looking up at Steve hopefully.
"Of course" Steve said smiling at her. I can't take all this cuteness!
"Please stop! I'm allergic to cuteness" I said making the two of them laugh.
"I know I'm cute!" Lucy said before skipping ahead of us again. I couldn't help but smile as she enjoyed being out of the cell in Hydra. It made me happy that she was free.
"Jade?" Steve asked breaking me away from my thoughts.
"Hmmm?" I hummed as we continued to walk.
"Have you ever wanted children?" He asked.
"Of course. I'm use to taking care of them because I took care of Alison almost everyday" I said as we both watched Lucy.
"How much would you want your own child?" He asked, "scale of 1 to 10."
"10" I said without hesitating. In the corner of my eye I saw Steve smile slightly and we started to catch up with Lucy. Steve scooped her up into his arms and tickled her gently causing her to giggle. Lucy took the flower out of her hair and put it on Steve's ear making me hold in my laugh. Steve smiled before setting her down on the ground.
"How fabulous do I look?" Steve asked making me laugh.
"You. Look. FABULOUS!" I said in a funny voice making Lucy laugh.
"You're hilarious" Steve said putting his arm around me again.
"Thank you! I try very hard" I said simply with a smile.
"I love you for it" he said. I was still shocked every time he said I love you. It made me feel all happy inside. All these emotions are confusing. I turned towards Steve and stood up on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek.
"You are such a sweet soldier" I said staring at him with a smile. I smile a lot. I guess you could say Steve makes me smile.
"Thank you! I try very hard" he said quoting my words from earlier. I couldn't help but smile again at his words. This man makes me feel so happy.
"And I love you for it" I said hugging his arm as we walked. Lucy ran back over and walked in between us. Steve messed up her head of curls again making her fix it again quickly. I laughed softly at Lucy as she quickly fixed her hair. She reached up and slapped Steve's stomach since she can't reach his shoulder or his chest. He grabbed her with his free hand and pulled her close to us. Too much adorableness in one day. I can't handle the amount of cuteness. It's killing me slowly but surely. Steve picked up Lucy and balanced her on his hip as we walked. He kissed her pale cheeks softly before kissing my head.
"My two favorite girls" he said hugging us both. I couldn't help but blush and tried to hide it, "I see that blush!"
"What?! No! Me blushing! Never!" I said putting my hand on my chest trying to defend myself.
"I saw it" he said, "it was adorable."
"I try" I said.
We arrived at the small diner and we took our seats near the window. Lucy sat beside me and Steve sat in front of us. We looked through our menus before ordering our lunch and getting our drinks. Lucy decided to get a little emotional and tell us about everything she remembers from being in Hydra. I felt bad for her. I looked at Steve and smiled sadly.
"I'm gonna go to the potty" Lucy said hopping out of the booth and heading towards the bathroom. Once she walked away I looked at Steve.
"I want to give her the best life we can" I said.
"We can try, Jade. Maybe you could move into my apartment with me. I was thinking about buying a apartment but or I could ask Tony if we could have some stuff changed to our floor" he said.
"We could change Thor's room into Lucy's room. Or I could sleep with you in your room and Lucy could have my room" I said taking a sip of my soda.
"Whatever you want to do" Steve said as Lucy came back to the booth and climbed into her seat.
