"I dislike you," she said and crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at the road as Greyson drove away from the school.

Greyson chuckled and reached over the gears and placed his hand on Indianna's thigh. "You couldn't even if you wanted to," he said, rubbing circles into Indianna's thigh with his fingers, igniting sparks that spread down her leg.

"Shut up," Indianna muttered and Greyson smirked. "Oh crap!" She gasped. "I left my bag and my phone-"

"Ace is bringing it to the house after school."

"Oh, okay."

"No thank you?"

"You're not Ace," Indianna shrugged and she looked down to see that she had subconsciously linked her fingers with Greyson's. She frowned and went to pull away, but Greyson held tight.

"You always have very cold hands," he commented.

"Am I meant to thank you for that?"

"It was just an observation," Greyson chuckled.

"You're always hot."

"Thanks," Greyson smirked and Indianna rolled her eyes.

"Not what I meant."

"I know," he said. "I'm a werewolf, my core body temperature is considerably higher than that of a human being. I don't get cold easily either."

"I get cold extremely easily," Indianna frowned.

"You're not a werewolf yet," Greyson shrugged.

"Thank God," Indianna sighed.

"It's not a bad thing, sugar. Being a shifter is a good thing. It's great."

"For you, I just want to be normal."

"We are normal, Indie. Werewolves existed before humans did, but somewhere along the line some humans didn't inherit the werewolf gene and humans evolved."

"I just don't want to become one of you."

"You're one of us whether you like it or not," Greyson shrugged. "You can't change it."

"I don't have to like it."

Greyson pulled up to the house and him and Indianna both got out of the car. As they walked through the front door Indianna grabbed Greyson's arm. "What?" He asked.

"If anything happens that I'm not comfortable with, I'm leaving."

"Okay."

"Promise me you'll let me?"

Greyson rolled his eyes, but nodded. "Promise."

"Indianna," Doc greeted Indianna when they entered the infirmary. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay," Indianna shrugged.

"Take a seat." Indianna sat on one of the beds and Doc walked up to her. "Have you been having any pains at all?"

"Some. They aren't that bad."

"Hmm. The calm before the storm," Doc murmured. "How about fits? Have you had a fit in the past few days?"

"No."

"That's good, for now."

"For now?"

"I'm afraid it will get worse again," Doc frowned. "You will most probably have fits again and the pains will be extreme."

Indianna visibly paled and Greyson took her hand. "You'll be okay."

"I hope so," she muttered.

"I'm just going to run so routine tests," Doc announced. "I'm going to take your blood pressure first." Indianna sat quietly as Doc did his thing and Greyson watched his every move; he didn't want anything to harm his mate. "It's slightly high, but that is common during this stage. Stress levels are high and your hormones are all over the place, it's perfectly normal."

Doc did a few more tests and lndianna felt more relaxed in the medical environment. Until Doc lifted a syringe up. "No!" Indianna said sternly. "No!"

"A blood sample could make it easier for me to figure out when you're going to move on to the next stage-"

"No," Indianna repeated and shook her head hurriedly. *You promised, Greyson.*

"Doc, no needles," Greyson said sternly and Doc nodded, putting the syringe away. Indianna let out a breath and Greyson looked at Doc. "You done?"

"Yes, I will let you know if I figure out anything about Indianna's process," Doc said and Greyson nodded.

"Good. Let's go, sugar." Greyson held his hand out and Indianna took it, sliding off of the bed and walking out of the infirmary with him. Greyson led Indianna upstairs to his room and gently pushed her up against the closed door. "Your heart," he murmured. "I can hear it beating." He cupped Indianna's cheek and frowned. "It's fast. You really don't like doctors do you, sugar?"

Indianna shook her head and Greyson stepped back, giving her some space. "I still can't believe you're forcing me to bunk school."

"You're skipping one lesson," Greyson scoffed and Indianna wandered over to his bed, taking a seat on the soft mattress. "Big deal."

"It's against the rules," Indianna frowned.

"Rules?" Greyson repeated and laughed. "Indie, you're such a goody-two-shoes."

"I am not!" Indianna exclaimed and Greyson raised his eyebrows at her.

"You are," he said and walked over to his bed, stopping in front of Indianna. He stood between her legs and smirked at her annoyed expression.

"I'm not."

"If you're so sure of yourself," Greyson said and leaned closer to Indianna, a smirk plastered on his face, "prove it, sugar."

Indianna narrowed her eyes and shook her head. "You may think I'm a goody-two-shoes, Greyson, but I'm not easy. Don't try to trick me into doing stuff with you simply to prove a point."

Greyson chuckled and quickly kissed Indianna on the lips. "I would never do such a thing," he smirked and lay down on his bed. "Lets do something, Indie. What shall we do?"

Indianna shifted so she was lying next to Greyson. "Sleep. Your voice is boring me."

"Cheeky bitch," Greyson scoffed and Indianna grinned.

"Put some tv on or something. I don't care."

Greyson ended up putting a horror film on which, much to his amusement, Indianna hated with a passion.

"I said tv, not a horror film!" She groaned, covering her face with her hands.

Greyson chuckled and wrapped his arms around Indianna, pulling her into his chest.

She hated to admit it, but he smelt great.

"Thanks," he whispered into Indianna's ear and she rolled her eyes.

There was a loud scream from the television and Indianna jumped in fright, gripping onto Greyson's hand. "Please turn it off."

"I don't think so," he smirked.

Indianna groaned and went to get off the bed to turn the film off, but she found herself getting pulled back by Greyson who wrapped his arms around her tightly. "Greyson!"

"Yes?"

"Get off me!"

"Um, no," he said and kissed her temple.

"I hate you."

"Of course you do, sugar."
