(Daniels POV)
Madison was out in the field, kicking Lucas's tail. She was amazing, probably the best hunter around. Her fur was beautiful, red white and brown. I shake out my fur and look around. Kaylee and Luna are stalking a rabbit down by the river. They were becoming really close friends. I look back to where Madison and Lucas are. Lucas is learning how to use animal tracks to determine when an animal was near and if it's still close. Every time he got a question wrong, she would smack him with her paw. I start laughing. Her head snap up and she glares at me. I give her a wink and walk off to help Kaylee and Luna. What? Where? Kaylee and Luna are gone. I run up to where they were and sniff the ground. They were here just a few minutes ago and they went... Wait, they weren't the only wolves here. I start running following the scent. Keeping my nose to the ground I didn't see the puddle up ahead and slipped. It hasn't rained recently. I think, confused. Then I smell it. The sharp metallic scent that makes my eyes water and my head spin. I didn't slip in a puddle of water. I slipped in a puddle of blood. I shift. "LUNA! KAYLEE! WHERE ARE YOU?" Nothing. Oh crap.
