Trapped By Wolves

Chapter 4: Prey

Chaeri stared blankly into space as she trudged the hallway on her way to the lockers, her head was occupied by the seven wolf guys living in her house,

'wonder what they're doing right now?'

She sighed shaking her head, she shouldn't even be thinking about them, why would she care what they were doing right now anyway?

"Oowwch!" She winced after bumping into someone and landing on her butt,

"S-sorry…" a familiar voice spoke, she looked up and her heart immediately raced,

Chaeri resisted the urge to drop her jaw and squeal as she met eyes with the person in front of her, his attractive brown eyes and shy charming smile made her feel butterflies in her stomach, it was him…Kim Jaeyoon, the president of the Art Club, the person she secretly adored since her freshmen year,
She had always dreamed of catching his attention and imagining scenarios of how they would meet, but she never really put any hope to that for he was considered one of the popular guys in school and she was contented with admiring him from afar, but now he's finally noticed her existence, what should she do?!

"Are you okay?" she felt her cheeks redden as he offered his hand to help her up,

"I-I'm fine" she stuttered accepting his hand but letting go of it and scrambling back down to pick the books she dropped,

"Here, I'll help." He chuckled making her blush even more out of embarrassment, she wanted to hit herself in the head for looking like a total loser in front of him,

"N-No! It's okay, I-I c-could do it" she said wanting to disappear in front of him, why was she stuttering too much, oh how she wanted to scold her heart for beating so fast too, she wanted to stop him but he had already picked half of the books and gave it to her,

"T-thanks…" Chaeri spoke "I'm sorry for troubling you" she said hugging her books as she stared on the ground,

"No, it's okay, I wasn't looking too…" he said and her heart jumped with joy seeing him smile at her,

"I have to go" he said "See you…" he waved and her gaze followed him as he walked away,

Chaeri's heart drummed faster than it already did if it was ever possible, Jaeyoon's smile replaying on her head, still unable to believe she had finally talked with her crush, she sighed dreamily,

"S-see you…"

Cheari stepped out of the bus feeling energized and giddy, she has been wearing the same sunny smile ever since she left school, her head replaying the events of when she met Kim Jaeyoon,

'He didn't ask for my name though…' Chaeri's forehead creased at the thought but she immediately shook it off, No, she was still lucky! Not everyone accidentally bumps into the person they like,

Chaeri entered a grocery store on her way home, a smile playing on her lips as she lined up on the counter to pay for the food she bought, 'dinner should be special today!' She thought,

"You seem extra cheerful today, Chaeri." A voice chuckled, her head turned to the counter where a middle-aged woman was standing "Have you gotten a boyfriend already?"

"Oh, Good Afternoon, Mrs. Kwon!" She bowed, blushing at the question, "N-no, I don't have one y-yet." She answered shyly her smile still intact,

"Don't have one?" Mrs, Kwon uttered in surprise as she placed the food she bought into grocery bags "Surely a beautiful girl like you would have a lot of suitors knocking on your door."
