My eyes fluttered open. It was quite weird for me to be dreaming about wolves, I was pretty sure the village temple had none of them. A yawn escaped from my mouth as I groggily sat on my bed stretching my arms. My eyes landed on the calendar at my table, it was my last day on the country side which means my vacation ends tomorrow and I have to go back to my rigorous life as a high school student. I have to leave my grandparent's house before lunch or I'll miss the last bus to the city,

A knock on the door shattered my thoughts,

"Chaeri?" it was my grandmother,

I got up from my bed and opened the door "Yes, Grandma?"

"Oh, I'm so glad you're awake already" she smiled "Is there something you want me to do?" I asked smiling back at her.

She and my grandfather had practically raised me since I was little after my parent's death, they'd been quite sad since I started to move to the city for high school so I made sure to visit them every summer break,

"Oh, no I don't but you have to eat your breakfast right now" she laughed,

"Of course, I'll help you set the table-"

"Aigoo...you don't need to, your grandpa and I have already set it"

"Huh? But why so early?" I asked confused,

"We'll need to visit the temple and pray before you leave the village" my grandfather spoke from behind her,

"Yes, that's right, it'll help with your luck when you travel to the city and start studying again" grandma added,

"But you should have called me-"

"Ah, no buts, we need you to be in good state when you leave here" she chided, ushering me to the table before I could talk,

*************

The sun had already risen when grandparent's and I arrived at the temple. It looked just like my dream except that it wasn't late at night, the flowers and trees were visible and there weren't any wolves on the doorstep, tourists and locals enter and exit the temple,

"Chaeri, you go pray inside, we'll get some charms from the store" my grandma spoke,

"Okay, Grandma..." I smiled and nodded before turning around towards the temple door,

I noticed that I was the only person left inside, it seemed as if the people had left after I had finished my prayers, my eyes scanned the place, the temple was how it always had been since I was little: filled with old scrolls and urns and-

A silver sword on one of the tables caught my attention; its iron blade glinted against the sun's rays, it wasn't rusty but the carvings on its handle told me it was old, was it real?

"Owww!" I squeaked, withdrawing my hand, now I felt stupid for even doubting the swords authenticity, I cringed at the sight of fresh blood oozing from the cut on my finger, the blood trickled down to the top of a dusty old urn below the table, I panicked wiping the blood on the urn using my handkerchief, I turned around to see if anyone had seen what I had done and sighed in relief when I found out that no one was there to see my stupidity,

I left the temple feeling anxious, covering my wounded finger with my handkerchief,

"Miss..."

A voice called, I turned, my heart pounding with anxiety, was I wrong about no one being there and someone had actually seen it? I'll be in really big trouble if it was the monk,

"Oh, no, please, I didn't mean it" I pleaded "it was just an accident-" I stopped, covering my mouth, my eyes wide open after seeing the person in front of me,
