Chapter 1, Sabrina's Birthday Bash Begins

"Girls," called Sabrina's mom up the stairs. "Missy is here!"

"Yay!" squealed Sabrina. She rushed down the stairs to greet her newest party guest. I heard "hello!"'s and squeals and hugs. Missy also handed Sabrina her birthday present and Sabrina was obviously thanking her and ushering her upstairs.

Missy came up and said hi to everyone, except me. She never did like me that much.

"Sabrina's mum is speaking with her, so that's why she's still down there," she explained.

We were all hanging in Sabrina's room. It's still recovering from our epic pillow fight. Or should I call it a pillow war. There are feathers floating around, tinting the pink atmosphere that seems to be there because the whole room is pink- the walls, the bedding, the mosquito net around the bed, the carpet, the desk, well, you get the point.

The sound of Sabrina's approach came before she did.

"My mom is going to head out to the store to pick up some drinks that she's forgotton to buy. She's leaving in about an hour but she won't be gone long. She just wanted to let us know before the party started." She smiled her dazzeling smile and shoved a lock of her golden brown hair behind her ear.

"Who's missing?" I asked, eager to get the party activities started.

"Just..." she looked at a list on the wall. She crossed out Missy's name and her amber eyes shined up and down it. "Just Heather," she concluded. "But her mom dropped her stuff off earlier. She said Heather would be bringing my present. Oh, and Nina and Renee left about five minutes ago with Nina's mom to go pick up Whitney, since she couldn't fetch a ride."

"Kay," I replied and grabbed a handful of barbeque chips and stuffed them down my throat.

"So, what's the schedule?" asked tall, tan, blonde Nikki.

"I don't really know. I kinda have a plan, but we can't do anything 'til Heather and everyone else gets here. If it gets too late we might have to start without her... I think we should just play it by ear for now..." she mumbled, ashamed at not really having a plan for her gigantic event of a birthday sleepover.

"Let's do something now, while we're waiting," suggested Nikki.

"Well, we can't do any partner games because we have the small amount of six 'til they gets here. To only have three teams would be boring" said Sabrina.

"Uhhh, how about we get some lemonade or some other drinks?" suggested Sara in her usual shy nature.

"Yeah. I am kinda thirsty," said Missy loudly.

"Then let's go to the kitchen!" exclaimed Sabrina, a smile forming on her face about what was about to happen.

All the girls with their sock-covered feet ran out the door of Sabrina's bedroom, through the hallway, and down the carpeted stairs. They all immediatley gasped at what the saw. To their left was the entry hall. But to their right was the massive kitchen. But it was decked with pink streamers and pink crepe papers and pink posters and pink table cloths. There was a giant pink sign saying, "HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, RINA!" (Rina is Sabrina's nickname)

The group of awed girls walked to a little, pink card table. On top was soda-bottles and drink pitchers galore. On another identical table was was a colossal stack of cups and napkins. Each girl poured their choice drink and downed it quickly. Mine happened to be this cherry lemonade concoction. I have one word to describe it- heavenly.

"So what should we do now?" asked Sara. She is shy, but at parties she's pretty awesome. She gets less shy and more exciting as the night goes on.

"Let's play a board game!" exclaimed Nikki happily.

"I think we should take votes on the movie we're watching later," suggested Missy in a smart-alec tone.

"Oh yeah!" began Sabrina. "I'll take you guys' votes then I'll take the votes for the rest of the people as they come in! I'll go get them!" Sabrina skipped to her living room and back, carrying two DVD's that would later be watched on her humongous television.

"Okay. So I got two new ones. One is A Kidnapping with uhhh..." she checked the back, reading the actors. "Dianna Agron from I Am Number Four and Glee. Christian Serratos from the Twilight Saga. Jim Broadbent from Harry Potter. Ana Mulvoy Ten from that TV show, House Of Anubis. And Brendan Fraser from like a whole bunch of movies."

"Okay," said Nina, just walking in with Whitney and Renee. "What's the other one?" All the girls, including me, squealed at her arrival.

"Haha! Well, the other movie is Midnight: When The Wolves Come Out. It's a spin-off of the Twilight Saga. So it's got all the same actors as that. What shall it be then?" She gave us a dazzeling smile.

We were interupted by a sudden ringing noise. In unison, each girl procured their cell-phone from the back pocket of their skinny jeans.

"Not me," they all said in unison, except Sabrina.

"Guys, sometimes you're just plain stupid. It's the house phone," said Sabrina while reaching for the cordless phone.

"Ohhhhhh," they all said.

"Hello? Yes, this is Sabrina. No, Heather isn't here. What do you mean she left home an hour ago? It's only a ten minute walk!"

Everyone went silent.
