"JIM!" You scream as loud as you can, starting to slide/run down this hill. Your husband, Jim Kirk, and you were on an away mission together. Alone. Well, not at the start, but everyone knows the legend of red shirts.

While moving down this hill, a creature jumped out of no where, tackling Jim and rolling down the hill with him. Jim managed to fight creature off and kill it, but not before getting bit and eventfully falling unconscious.

Your heart thumping so hard in your chest you swear it would burst out, you ran down the hill to Jim. He still lay at the bottom, motionless. Blood soaked through his yellow shirt at his shoulder, front and back. Deep scrapes and nasty bruises littered his arms, face, and legs.

Jim groaned and moved his head a little bit. You instantly pressed your hand on his shoulder, causing him to yell in pain and clench his fists. "Shhhh Jim shhhhh." You say, already getting cloth from your bag to make into bandages.

"Ugh..." Jim groaned, it turning into a yell. He moved his legs and arched his back a little, unable to stay still from the pain.

"I know it hurts, but stay as still as you can." You say, tightly wrapping the bandages around his arm. Right now the priority was stopping the bleeding. The possibility of poison or something remaining in the wound was too far ahead.

"What...?" Jim managed to ask, his voice coming out in a harsh whisper before he groaned in pain. You managed to finally find a hypo you had in your bag that helps with pain and infection.

"I don't know Jimbo, I don't know." You say, finishing the bandages and hypoing him. He relaxed a little, the pain meds taking affect. He sighed and closed his eyes, the blood on his face now dry.

"We...we need shelter." Jim muttered, opening one eye as he looked at the now darkening sky. You nod and kiss his forehead, sighing.

"We have to move for that, are you up to it?" You ask, watching as he slowly nodded. You moved to Jim's better side, taking his arm over your shoulder. Slowly and painfully, the two of you stood up and walked to a small cave. The cave was only about seven feet tall, twelve feet deep. Big enough for you and Jim.

"I'm freezing." Jim said, shivering inside the cave. This planet had normal climate to Earth. It wasn't too warm to begin with, only 54 degrees Fahrenheit.  Not too bad though. The temperature would drop to around 43 at night.

"I'm going to get some stuff and try to make a fire outside the cave. Maybe the heat will travel inside the cave." You say, kissing his cheek before getting up to find firewood. You didn't find any.

When you came back, Jim was half asleep, shivering from the cold. "Y/N.." He mumbled, moving his good arm weakly to hold you hand. You lay down on his good side and hold that arm, cuddling close, careful of cuts.

"Jim." You say, kissing his cheek. He weakly laughed before having a coughing fit, moaning in pain afterwords.

"I'm sorry." Jim said, starting to doze off. You sighed and stayed close, shivering in the cold.

"Don't be Jim it's fine." You say as lights started to surround you two. The Enterprise found you.

Jim was taken to sickbay right away while you were wrapped in a blanket and scanned. Everything was fine with you, no injuries as you knew. Jim woke up and refused to let go of your hand, knowing that was the second time you'd almost lost him. The first time being after Khan. He loved you too much to really think of you going through that pain.
