As soon as Allistor stopped yelling, everyone went back to their stations, grumbling as they did so. You feel two hands on your shoulders and you looked up to see Sheamus and Dylan. "Come on...." Sheamus trailed off giving you a confused expression "____" you replied "Well, come on then ___ lets go to the kitchens" Dylan said cheerfully and walked with you, down a set of stairs on the opposite end to where the captains cabin was, at the bottom of the stairs was a path that led straight ahead down another set of stairs, a path to the left and one to the right, they walked you down the one to the right.

"That was bloody impressive what you did to, Duncan" Dylan said all of a sudden, you cocked your head to the side, like a confused puppy. "Who?" "Duncan, the man that tried to touch your ass" Sheamus said, "Oh thanks" you said "Didn't want his filthy hands on me I'm more than an object" you said firmly, Dylan nodded in agreement while Sheamus rubbed the back of his neck and muttered something under his breathe. Sheamus opened a door into a large room, with a small fire pit in the middle held up by a frame was a cauldron which was bubbling away. You noticed that all the wood in here was heavily varnished and the fire pit was surrounded by small rocks, which explained how nothing caught on fire.

Their were various pots and pans everywhere as well as cabinets and jars containing spices and food you had never seen before. Then Tommy came out of the shadows, with what looked like chopped up carrots in his hand "Dylan, Sheamus" he greeted hurriedly then tipped carrots into the soup. "____ is apart of the crew now, and she will be under your watch" Dylan said and nudged you towards him. You hesitantly walked forward, "Alright lads I'm sure the Captain wants you for something, wouldn't want to keep him waiting would we" Tommy chided and the two walked out of the room, grumbling about Tommy's eagerness for them to leave before closing the door behind them.

"Right then since we will be working together, we might as well talk as we clean" he stated, gesturing to all of the pots that needed to be cleaned. A few hours later, you had warmed up to the man. He was very friendly and somewhat comedic and you couldn't help but let that rub off on you. You both had just finished the soup that would be eaten by the crew tonight. So you were just talking, "How come your the jailer and the cook, shouldn't two people be needed for that instead of one?" you asked, he sighed "One, I'm the only one with decent cooking skills around here, the Kirkland brothers each tried when we all started out they have no cooking skills what so ever" he chuckled as if he remembered something funny, "Two I'm the only person the prisoners listen to, they get a bit rebellious now and again and for some bizarre reason a six and a half foot man is intimidating" he spoke sarcastically, you laughed. "The Kirkland brothers, as in Allistor, Sheamus, Dylan and the Captain?" You questioned "Aye, and in that order of age" he then said absent mindedly "Sometimes Matthew the Navigator does come down from the crows nest and help me, down here now and again" he paused "Poor lad gets picked on a lot he's a very sensitive soul".

You couldn't help but wonder what a man like Matthew was doing on a pirate ship, you decided to express your mind "If he's so sensitive what is he doing here then?" You asked, "The captain helped Matthew and his brother Alfred when they nearly got caught by the Kings Guard, in return for saving their lives Matthew offered himself to work on Captains ship, to repay their debt" he explained "Everyone who has joined has either wanted to join, forced to or their servitude is their way of repaying the Captain" you turned to him, looking him dead in the eye "What about you? Why are you here" you asked curious about his answer.

He looked down and closed his eyes as if was remembering something painful, "Let's just" he paused and swallowed, his Adam's apple visibly bobbing "Let's just say, if it wasn't for the Captain I would still be forced to kill and serve for a egotistical nobleman, who would beat me as a reward" he gave you a pained smile 'Bloody hell' you thought. You didn't know what to say, what could you say to someone after confessing to that?, you rubbed his back. You didn't look at him "Is that why you don't judge me?" You asked, he turned his head to you, "You don't judge me because you know what it's like to be treated like your less than everyone else" you stated you knew the answer was right, and he confirmed that when he smiled at you.

"Aye" he said "But it's going to take a lot for the men to treat you equally, no matter what the Captain or Allistor may say to them your just a women" he said grimly, "Well at least I have you Sheamus and Dylan", you said hopefully smiling at him, "You have me and Dylan on your side that's for sure, but not Sheamus" he said disappointedly, you cocked a eyebrow in confusion. He sighed "Sheamus admires your feistiness but he's always been a superstitious man, most of the crew are, no matter how many times Dylan tells him it's all in his head" he paused, as if he was afraid to speak the next sentence, "The rest just view you as a object to be used in more ways than one" he murmured the last part.

You sighed and placed your head in your hands, this was going to be a long voyage.
